Ray J shares touching video of Princess Love celebrating 1st birthday after having daughter Melody

New mom Princess Love is the center of Ray-J’s recent post as she celebrates her birthday for the first time with their daughter. In a video the singer posted, he serenades his wife who also received a special birthday greeting from her mother-in-law she's recently been at odds with.

It’s been a year of firsts for Ray J and Princess Love who welcomed their first child, daughter Melody, in May. The first-time parents celebrated Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for the first time this year and now Princess is also celebrating her first birthday as a mother.

To commemorate the special occasion, Ray-J posted a video of his wife and child as he serenades Princess with a ‘Happy Birthday’ tune. Princess sat on a couch holding little Melody as they looked at the cake filled with lighted candles which she also blew out at the end of Ray-J’s song. The touching moment captured by Ray-J was made even more special as it signified better days for the couple who’s had their share of misunderstandings in the recent past.

In his caption, Ray-J expressed his love for his wife and acknowledges the problems they've had in the past. But he also conveyed his high hopes for their future.

Princess’ birthday also marked the first time Ray-J’s mother made peace with his wife after having been at odds with the new mom for months. Sonja Norwood took to her Instagram to greet her daughter-in-law and even told her she loved her and maintained they were family. Sonja shared a photo of the beautiful Princess and wrote,

“Happy Birthday to one of the most prettiest girls @princesslove I know. Thank you for my second granddaughter @melodylovenorwood and 2 years of marriage to my son @rayj. Love you and we are family!”

In recent months, Sonja called out Princess for embarrassing her family by airing out her dirty laundry with Ray-J on social media. Princess refused to heel to her mother-in-law who demanded an apology from her. A silent war erupted that had fans guessing after Sonya and her daughter Brandy skipped Princess’ baby shower.

Now it seems all that is water under the bridge as Sonja extends a hand to her daughter-in-law in time for her birthday.
