The famous actor's daughter is showing a lot of promise after being chosen to carry out a special honor during the 2017 Golden Globes.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's daughter, Simone Garcia Johnson, is now 17 years old and she looks all set to follow in her father's footsteps after she was announced as the Golden Globe Ambassador for the 2018 installment.
Each year, the Golden Globe Awards chooses the son or daughter of a celebrity to be the presenter of the award ceremony. While in previous years this person has been termed as Mr. or Miss Golden Globe, last year, the title was changed.
The change in the title marked the 75th Anniversary of the ceremony, for which Johnson was picked as the first-ever Golden Globe Ambassador. n 2017, Sylvester Stallone's three daughters were chosen as Miss Golden Globe.
In a special event, the Stallone sisters announced Johnson as the following year's chosen famous offspring and passed her the baton. Johnson, who started her modeling career at the age of 16, is a perfect choice to represent the ceremony.
Speaking about her feelings, Johnson said in a statement, “I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in a household with strong role models and feel so honored to represent the H.F.P.A. for its 75th Anniversary.”
She further expressed that she hoped to serve as a role model to young people out there and inspire them to "speak out on issues they are passionate about."
Johnson also opened up about her father's important career advice. She revealed that he has suggested that she "have fun and live in the moment."
The 17-year-old is the daughter of The Rock and his ex-wife, Dany Garcia, who is also his former manager. The pair first met when the actor was still a football player at the University of Miami.
They married in 1997 and welcomed their daughter into their lives in August 2001.
