Fantasia's teen daughter stuns in black mini dress & orange coat in recent video
Fantasia Barrino’s first child and only daughter took to Instagram to show off her costume, and one thing is sure: she’s no longer the little Zion we knew from her mother’s “American Idol” days.
Barrino must be so proud to see her little girl blossoming into a confident teen. The 17-year-old filmed a short clip of herself dancing and showing off her outfit.
She looked ready to impress in a floor-length orange coat worn over a black mini gown that was not very visible. Zion chose black shoes and a pair of trendy sunglasses to complete the look.
Her caption revealed a young woman sure of herself:
“I feel like I’m King Kong, name still goin ding dong!”
Zion has come a long way with her famous mom who won the 2004 edition of “American Idol.” At the time, Zion was one of the reasons Barrino became a fan favorite.
The “I Believe” singer had to drop out of school when she gave birth to her daughter at the age of 17. Her partner and Zion’s father was a violent man who subjected Barrino to physical and emotional abuse, and the relationship was short-lived.
Barrino moved on with her daughter, doing the best she could to raise the little girl. Naturally, mother and daughter became inseparable, and when the time came for the singer to showcase her talent to the world, it was with her daughter by her side.
Barrino’s social media bears proof that she is fiercely proud of her firstborn. For Zion’s birthday three weeks ago, the soulful songstress went all out, posting tributes as early as a day before.
She wrote on Instagram:
"The Game Changer, The Day My Life Changed Happy Birthday @onlyzion_ I Love You Baby Girl #firstborn #Leo #Smart #beautiful #Seventeen."
Barrino has since tied the knot with her husband of three years, Kendall Taylor, who she says adores her children. Zion’s younger brother is Dallas Xavier. He was born in 2011.
