President Donald Trump surprises chronically ill 8-year-old boy in hospital
8-year-old Ashton Zari was visited by both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Beckley boy Zari got the once in a lifetime experience on August 24, which his mother Amanda would later describe as "an experience I am struggling with finding adequate words to sum up."
Zari, however, deserves it. He made the request himself to have his book shared in person with the President. "How I Became A Superhero was written as an encouragement for medically vulnerable kids.

When Zari learned the president would be visiting the hospital, he told his mom what he wanted to do. Amanda assembled hospital staff as well as presidential staff to attempt the feat.
The exceptional young writer was referred to as a "young entrepreneur" by Trump. Amanda said Trump "spent time engaging with Ashton, asking him about his book..."
She spoke of Trump being "kind and empathetic."
"He was genuinely interested in Ashton's health and asked many questions about Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio."
As for the First Lady, she left a heartfelt impression on Razi and his mother. Amanda explained how Melania "has the kindest voice and smile possibly of anyone I ever met.
"She spent time looking through Ashton's book and commenting on the various illustration, the workmanship, and she told him what a great job he did."
Melania even inquired about Zari's future plans as the author he is. She asked when he might publish the second book.
In the meantime, Zari fights off chronic kidney disease primary, bilateral vesicorectal reflux, and hydronephrosis.
In early August 2018, someone else made the day of a little child in the hospital. Phoenix Thompson's dad danced with his daughter to cheer up the two-year-old patient.
Thompson was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and right away began chemotherapy treatment. These should go on for five months at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorder Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Thompson's dad decided one day to put his daughter in an adorable gold dress for their dance to Tim McGraw's "My Little Girl."
Later on, in August 2018, Sofia Sanchez got the best birthday present she could ask for when she met her idol, Drake.
Sanchez, 11-years-old, is awaiting a heart transplant at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. While waiting, she did the famous "Kiki Challenge" that is still raving around social media.
In the video she made, she asked Drake to come and see her, unaware of what would happen. Around her birthday on August 21, Sanchez got the surprise of her life when Drake showed up.
"You asked me to come, and I'm here" he said.
Sofia in an interview afterward said she was unsure if she were dreaming or not. The shock in the video really portrays how deeply touched she felt.
The two shared a love of basketball, Justin Bieber, and dogs.
