Teen who was trying to follow dangerous dance challenge gets life lesson from mother

The mother of a teenage Mexican girl surprised her daughter doing the Kiki Challenge. The woman’s reaction and the message behind it made the video go viral.

Several people have been sharing clips of themselves dancing to Drake’s “In My Feelings” next to a vehicle in what was labeled as the Kiki Challenge. This girl considered that she was ready to do it, so she got a friend to record her.

In the video, the girl appeared wearing a black outfit getting down a moving vehicle while Drake’s song was playing in the background. Then, she started lip-synching and dancing following all the usual steps.

She probably didn’t expect that her mother would have seen her from her home. The angry woman, who was also Mexican, approach her and made her stop dancing.

Her mother had a good reason, though. She was asking the teenager to help her with chores instead of dancing in the middle of the street, which is obviously dangerous.

“What are you doing? Go to your room to clean it. That’s what you should be doing. You can dance in there,” the furious woman shouted at the surprised teenager.

Since the friends who were in the vehicle were laughing, the woman told them to join her daughter and help her clean the house, too. Finally, she took her flip-flop off and threw it to the ground.

IT WENT VIRAL

Even though the clip was uploaded in late-July, it has been played more than 1.7 million times, shared more than 26 thousand times, and it has almost two thousand comments.

Some users praised the mother for trying to impart some sense to her daughter and maybe teach a lesson to the thousands who are following the “In my feelings” craze.

A Facebook user said: “Well done. I hope that this way they stop doing dumb things everytime they see something stupid online! [sic]”

Although it might have looked like the mother’s reaction was genuine, it was all part of a humorous clip shared on the Facebook page of the mother in the video, Iris Martinez.

A NONAGENARIAN DOING THE KIKI CHALLENGE

As Celebritist previously reported, a 93-year-old grandfather who watched a video of his great-grand-child doing the challenge decided that he wanted to do it, too, so he asked his grandson to record him.

In the video, the old man appeared showing off his dance moves while keeping the rhythm of Drake’s song. After a couple of seconds, the man was clearly tired, so the video ended.

DRAKE VISITED A FAN

Apart from being a wealthy rapper, Drake proved to have a big heart, as well. He visited Sofia Sanchez on her 11th birthday at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where the girl was waiting for surgery.

The girl posted a video of herself doing the challenge in the hospital hallway next to her cousin. She was tethered to a portable IV pump, but she showed off some smooth moves, and she invited her favorite singer, Drake, for a visit on her birthday on August 21.

Drake considered that visiting her was a good idea, so he surprised the 11-year-old girl at the hospital and made her birthday very special.
