Kathie Lee's husband of 29 years, Frank, died on August 9, 2015, from natural causes at their Greenwich, Connecticut home at the age of 84.

In February 2018, the "Today" show co-anchor, 65, sat down with the "I Am Second" crew and got candid about her faith and coping with feelings of loneliness after losing her husband.

Kathie Lee faced adversity and cruel behavior within the entertainment industry throughout her life. She was rejected many times by casting agents and was told she would never make it in Hollywood.

However, she proved them wrong because her career blossomed just as she met Frank, an American football player and television sports commentator.

In spite of their own personal trials, the couple remained loyal to each other and were determined to make their marriage work.

When Frank passed away, Kathie Lee was crushed entirely. But the thought of her husband meeting God and relaxing in Heaven helped ease her pain.

"On a beautiful Sunday morning, I found my husband passed on to Heaven... He saw Jesus and Jesus took his breath away," she said.

Following Frank's death, the Emmy Award winner turned to her mother and children for support.

Unfortunately, just two years after Frank passed away, Kathie Lee's mother, Joan Epstein, also died.

Kathie Lee was devastated, and she felt alone at the time because her two children, Cody Newton Gifford and Cassidy Erin Gifford, were too far from her.

"My biggest struggle at this point of my life is loneliness. I've lost my parents, my husband is gone now, and my children live far away from me," she said.

Kathie Lee added that she still lives in the same house where they created "a gazillion million memories." She continued that there are times when she's defeated by loneliness.

But the media personality believed that God will always be by her side and that with His love, she can overcome anything.

Kathie Lee, who is the co-host, with Hoda Kotb, of "The Kathie Lee and Hoda Show," is best known for her 15-year run on the talk show, "Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee." She is the celebrity ambassador for the non-profit organization, Childhelp.
