Ron Isley, 77, and his much younger wife enjoy the water with their son in recent photo
Versatile singer, Ron Isley was pictured in the pool with his family as they enjoyed some downtime. The photo was shared by his wife, Kandy Isley, who also defended her choice to marry him.
All three looked like one big, happy family as they posed in the water. Ron wore a wet brown t-shirt. He paired it with a gold chain, black snapback, and tinted aviator sunglasses.
Kandy also donned blue-tinted sunglasses, and her blond hair was visible in the shot. Ron Jr. opted merely for swimming goggles.
Ron, the lead singer, and co-founder of “The Isley Brothers,” met Kandy when his band took over management of her and her sister’s group. One thing led to another, and the pair fell in love.
The “Twist and Shout” hitmaker married Kandy in 2005 when he was 64, and she was 28. Many people had something to say about the union, and most of it was not good. But Kandy defended their marriage and explained why she fell in love with her spouse:
“He’s [Ron Isley] a GENTLEMAN! I mean, you’re talking about romance, he puts the ‘R’ in romance…from fine dining, to treating a woman like a man should, with respect. As we developed a relationship, we had a lot of things in common and Ronald…even though he’s older, he’s young at heart.”
Their love for each other has kept the duo together despite the troubles that plagued their family. Only one year after their wedding, Ron was sentenced to 3 years in federal prison for tax evasion. Worse still, Kandi was heavily pregnant with their son at the time of her partner’s sentencing.
Their son was eventually born in 2007, making Ron a father for the first time. The “I Once Had Your Love” crooner had previously been married to fellow musician Angela Winbush for eight years. They were separated in 2002, and three years later, Ron was married to Kandy.
Wide age gap or not, the Isley family are basking in love and living their best life.
