Meghan Markle looks good in an apron as she cooks for charity in latest video
The Duchess of Sussex might be a Royal, but this has not stopped her from getting her hands dirty in order to help other people. Meghan Markle immersed herself in the kitchen in hopes of helping her chosen charity cook some food, even launching her own cookbook recently which is now available for others to purchase.
Meghan Markle has always had a knack for cooking, and now she's decided to combine her two passions of charity work and cooking in order to create her own first solo gig as a royal.
She helped a hand to a group of women who were victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, volunteering in the women's community kitchen with a cookbook of their top 50 recipes, hoping to keep them up and running.
The cookbook called "Together: Our Community Cookbook" is not available for purchasing, and even includes a foreword by Meghan herself.
Although the recipes are not actually hers, she was the one who brought together the group of women in order to preserve their recipes. Markle was able to do this after paying a visit to the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in West London back in January.
"The Duchess of Sussex is supporting a new charity cookbook, which celebrates the power of cooking to bring people together – visit the link in our bio or our #IGTV channel to watch the full film. #CookTogether ‘Together: Our Community Cookbook’ showcases over 50 recipes from women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire."
Now, she's made sure that she actually means what she says by coming back months later to help the community bounce back. Returning with a new cookbook which would definitely help boost the morale of women in the community, she hopes to be able to affect more change in even more women's lives.
"The proceeds from the book will support the Hubb Community Kitchen, enabling it to stay open and to thrive."
While Meghan seems to be living a peaceful life in London, her dad, Thomas Markle Sr, seems to be in a bad place in Mexico. After a series of meltdowns in front of international media, he was reportedly given death threats by a criminal.
The 74-year old man claims that the violent ex-convict, Jose Sandoval is behind these threats, and threats to Lori and her daughter Jocelyn, 11 years old. Jose Sandoval is the ex-boyfriend of 38-year-old Lori Davis, a close friend of Thomas, whose child addresses him as ‘Uncle’.
After these threats, Thomas and Lori have taken action with the Tijuana, Mexico police to take precautionary measures.
