Jessica Simpson shares first pictures of new baby bump and gender reveal

Jessica Simpson is delighted about her newest addition to her family. The singer shared three photos earlier this week in an announcement of the big news to fans.

The 38-year-old has apparently been keeping the surprise under wraps. But yesterday, September 18, the star posted two photos to her Instagram leading up to the popular tell-tale tummy reveal.

In the first pic, her two kids, Ace Knute, 5 and Maxwell "Maxi" Drew, 6, held up two large black-and-white polka dot balloons in a grass field. The caption simply read, "SURPRISE..."

Of course, fans figured it out from since then and the congratulations came rolling in. Simpson spelled things out in the second pic, where she also announced the baby's gender.

"This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn't be happier to announce this precious blessing of life."

Simpson initially implied in an interview with Ellen last year that a third child with husband Eric Johnson was highly unlikely. She pointed out that she has an IUD and host Ellen said her two kids are already too cute.

The second photograph featured several pink balloons floating in the air as the two children tried to hold up a stringed decoration.

Fans of the "Dukes of Hazzard" star were ecstatic and littered the comments with heart emojis amidst the many congratulations.

Back in April 2018, she expressed to Entertainment Tonight that despite her "baby fever," another baby "would definitely have to be a bit of a miracle."

But just last month, when Simpson is believed to have been early in her pregnancy, the singer concealed any signs by wearing a loose black-and-white polka dot dress as she sang alongside country singer Willie Nelson.

“It’s not every night that a legend invites you to join him on his stage,” Simpson captioned an Instagram photo of her at the Orange County Fair. It was also the first time her husband and kids saw her performing.

In the last big reveal photo on her Instagram, Simpson donned a loose boho-style dress and wore an oversized sunglasses.

Her loose blonde waves framed her face as she looked towards the camera all while cradling her tummy. She captioned the picture "My Baby Love."

Her natural hairdo was in stark contrast to the wilder style the singer wore on her birthday back in July. She put on a pink-colored wig as she posed with her husband for an Instagram photo.

On Twitter, she also shared a few pics with the pink hairdo as she posed alongside friends and while blowing out her birthday candles.
