Gabby Sidibe flaunts her bra in purple jammies after recent weight loss in new picture
“Empire” star, Gabby Sidibe, who cited health reasons for her 2016 weight loss procedure, took to Instagram to flaunt results of the surgery in her purple pajamas.
Sidibe, 35, posed in front of a mirror and managed to make her sleepwear seductive by flaunting her black bra. She paired the outfit with white socks but wore her hair loose.
Sidibe secretly had laparoscopic bariatric surgery in May 2016 and announced it to the world last year after she was seen out and about looking slimmer. The “Precious” star shared her maintenance routine with People last year, and from the look of things, it’s working.
When it comes to food, Sidibe said she’s been working with meal plans and a nutritionist:
“I use meal plans that are really, really good, especially for when I’m busy. I cook a lot more. I talk to my nutritionist a lot. I just had an appointment with her on my laptop two days ago. We keep in touch. I tell her all the things I'm worried about.”
Sidibe’s workout routine involves a trainer with whom she trains three to four days every week, and some swimming. “I have a waterproof swim MP3 player that’s filled with all of the songs from the Hamilton soundtrack and the Hamilton Mixtape,” she said. “I just go down, and I swim for 20 laps.”
The Award-winning actress added:
“During my lunch break, I ride my tricycle around the block or I’ll ride it around set. I stay as active as possible. I’m stronger, and I’m able to move more, and I’m not worried about losing my [expletive] toes anymore.”
Sidibe also revealed that having her and her brother diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes heightened her worry and led to her getting the surgery. “I just didn’t want to worry,” she explained. “I truly didn’t want to worry about all the effects that go along with diabetes. I genuinely [would] worry all the time about losing my toes.”
While Sidibe has lost a ton of weight and is looking better than ever, she frowns at people congratulating her for it. Her reason:
“You don’t need to congratulate me on it. You don’t congratulate me every time I blow my nose. I needed to. It’s my body. Mind your own body.”
