Passengers of an airline that had just landed were surprised to see a man in his underwear attempting to get on the plane from the tarmac. The man, identified as 19-year-old Jhyrin Jones appeared on the airstrip and found his way to the airplane’s wing.

At around 5 pm on a Tuesday in June, a Delta Airlines flight from Miami landed at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Passengers were getting ready to depart the plane when they spotted Jones running into the active runway.

Jones was shirtless and only wearing his underwear when he climbed up the aircraft’s wing and attempted to get in through the exit window. He appeared to be shouting at someone on board while pounding on the airplane’s windows. Passengers in the exit row made sure the exit doors were secure so Jones couldn’t get inside.

One of the passengers on the flight, Tim Jones, took a video of the incident and shared it with 11Alive. It revealed the chaos that was also happening inside the airplane while passengers watched the events unfold outside. One of the passengers asked “What is he doing?” while flight attendants asked the rest to calm down.

Apart from Jones scaling the airplane, he was also later captured on video being handcuffed on the ground and escorted by police into a patrol car. He was charged with criminal trespassing, public indecency, and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

According to the FAA, one of the runways had been shut down due to the incident until after officials checked the aircraft. No reported airport delays occurred since then.

Previous reports regarding the incident suggested that Jones, the man in underwear had exited from the plane before appearing on the tarmac. Atlanta Airport PIO Elise Durham told ABC News that Jones was on board the flight from Miami. However, this was later retracted and corrected to the version we just told earlier.

Meanwhile, a Ryanair passenger was, in contrast, on board a plane when he decided to exit the aircraft using the emergency doors because his New Year’s Day flight was delayed. Passengers had already been inside the plane for thirty minutes after arrival when the Polish national referred to as Victor, decided to take matters into his own hands. With no information as to why they weren’t being asked to disembark in Malaga's airport, Victor “activated the emergency door and left,” according to another passenger. He sat on the wing for a while until one of the crew led him back inside. The man seated beside Victor suspected he was suffering from asthma and needed air. Victor was later arrested for breach of safety and was expected to be fined for his actions.
