Duchess Kate has been on maternity leave since her third child - Prince Louis - was born back in April.
The duchess has been present at Royal events like Prince Harry's wedding, and the Queen's Birthday, but she attended as a member of the Royal Family, not as a principal.
On Tuesday, the Duchess stepped out for the first time as a representative of the Royal Family, according to People.
“She said we were lucky to live near a place like this. She was asking if we had been here to see the park progress. It was lovely of her to stop.”

Duchess Kate, 36, visited a school just two-mile away from her home at Kensington Palace to spend time with local school children who are learning about the importance of working in a wildlife garden.
The duchess, who is a keen gardener has previously shared that she often gardens with her two oldest children, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte.
