Who is Michael Landon Jr.?
Son of the late Michael Landon and Marjorie Lynn Noe, Michael Landon Jr. is an American actor, director, writer, and producer. Michael Landon is well known for his roles in "Love Comes Softly" (2003), "Love’s Enduring Promise" (2004) and "Love’s Abiding Joy" (2006).
Early life:
Michael Landon Jr. was born to actor Michael Landon and his second wife, Marjorie Lynn Noe in June 1964. He is one of their four children. His siblings include Christopher B. Landon, Leslie Landon, Shawna Landon. He is also a half-brother to Jennifer Landon, Sean Landon, and Cheryl Lynn Landon.
Michael Landon Jr. grew up in a Jewish household, as his paternal grandfather was Jewish. But at the age of 18, he decided to convert to Christianity. Michael Landon Jr. graduated from the University of Southern California.
Career:
Landon Jr. began his career in entertainment and film in 1977 with the role of Jim in the TV series, "Little House on the Prairie". Following that, he appeared in "Bonanza: The Next Generation", and "Superboy" in 1988. He continued his career with many different roles including roles in "Back to Bonanza", "Bonanza: The Return", and "Bonanza: Under Attack". In 1991, Michael Landon Jr. made a career change and tried his hand at directing the documentary, "Michael Landon: Memories with Laughter and Love". He followed that by directing "Michael Landon, the Father I Knew" in 1999. From there, his directing career flourished and he directed many TV shows, including "Love Comes Softly", "Love’s Enduring Promise", "Love’s Long Journey", "Love’s Abiding Joy", "Saving Sarah Cain", "The Velveteen Rabbit", and "When Calls the Heart". Michael Landon Jr. also dabbled in writing. He wrote a variety of screenplays, including "Bonanza: The Return", "Michael Landon, the Father I Knew", "Love’s Enduring Promise", "Love’s Abiding Joy", "Love’s Unfolding Dream", and "The Last Sin Eater". He also worked on the production crews of many of his movies.
Personal life:
In December 1987, Michael Landon Jr. and actress Sharee Gregory tied the knot. Together they have three children: two daughters, Ashley and Brittany, and a son, Austin. Not much else is known about his private life.
