Lady Gaga confirms her engagement to now-fiancé Christian Carino in a touching speech
Singer and songwriter Lady Gaga confirmed her engagement to long-time boyfriend Christian Carino at a recent red carpet event.
The 32-year-old star attended Elle's 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration in Los Angeles on Monday.
She referred to the 49-year-old Carino as her fiancé during her speech. Read more on our Twitter account, @amomama_usa.
She said in her speech: "Thank you to all the loved ones in my life. Bobby [Campbell], I love you. My fiancé, Christian. All the loved ones in my life who take care of me every day."
The couple had been an item since February 2017, following seven months after her break-up from her previous partner, Taylor Kinney, 37.
Lady Gaga and Carino reportedly met at a Kings of Leon concert but kept their relationship out of the public eye for as long as possible.
Even though the duo supported each other publically, they never commented on their relationship status, much to their fans' dismay.
Six months after they met, Lady Gaga shared a rare photo of herself and Carino on Snapchat. It showed Carino holding her while the sun sets in the background.
Fans took it as confirmation that the duo was indeed in a relationship, but the pair didn't confirm rumor at the time.
A year after they first met, Lady Gaga also sported a ring on her ring finger, begging the question of the couple was secretly engaged.
At the Elle event, which took place at the Four Season's Hotel, Lady Gaga said she would never have imagined her life to turn out this way.
About her relationship with Carino, she said: “The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”
Lady Gaga is also making headlines and receiving critical acclaim for her latest film, A Star Is Born, which was released earlier this month.
The film was directed by and stars Bradly Cooper as an alcoholic singer who falls in love with a struggling songwriter, Ally, portrayed by Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga also appeared in American Horror Story: Hotel, a role that earned her a Golden Globe Award.
