Kate Middleton left fans confused wearing the 'worst ever dress' for a state banquet
Kate Middleton is believed by many to be a very beautiful woman who always knows what to wear, but she might have dropped the ball this time.
The Duchess of Cambridge attended the State Banquet, which took place on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Buckingham Palace, and her choice of wardrobe was questioned.
According to the Mirror, several people took to social media to express their harsh opinions regarding Middleton's dress, which was considered to be old-fashioned.

AN ODD ENSEMBLE
Kate is usually praised for her fabulous sense of fashion, but people weren't very happy about the kingfisher blue Alexander McQueen piece that she wore.
Aside from the dress, the Duchess sported Princess Diana's Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara, as well a pair of Collingwood Pearl Drop earrings.
FANS WEREN'T ON BOARD WITH IT
But not even the beautiful jewelry pieces were enough to distract people from the blue dress, with some claiming that the creation looked like a 'bad prom dress.'
The general opinion was that Kate was ' so much prettier than the dress,' and that it seemed something that people would wear back in the 80s.
A POSSIBLE TRIBUTE TO DIANA
A Twitter user even went as far as to jokingly say that it was nice of Carole Middleton, the Duchess' mother, to lend her her prom dress for the evening.
Despite all the criticism, some people believed that the dress was inspired by Princess Diana, and it was even suggested that it might have belonged to her.
MEGHAN'S ACCIDENT
Celebrities are always the center of attention, especially when it comes to bad outfits or wardrobe slips. Meghan Markle knows that all that too well since she also caused some reactions when she flashed her underwear.
The Duchess of Sussex had a wardrobe malfunction while attending Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks' wedding and the slip didn't escape the media's attention.
