Kelly Clarkson decided to let Natasia Greycloud go, but Blake Shelton knew he needed to snag Greycloud for his own team.

During the first night of the knockout rounds of "The Voice" season 15, fan-favorite Team Kelly contestant Cody Ray Raymond was missing, as reported by Country Music Nation.

According to Clarkson, Raymond had left the show because of “personal reasons."

Due to his departure, the "Because of You" singer had to get imaginative with how she handled the knockouts since she was left with an uneven number of contestants.

Clarkson later chose to have three of her contestants - Joye, Zaxai, and Greycloud - go head to head against one another, and she would pick two champs.

Joye performed country star Maren Morris‘ pop collaboration with Zedd, “The Middle,” while Zaxai sang Smokey Robinson’s “Crusin.’”

As for Greycloud, she brought down the house with her staggering rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey.”

David Allan Coe initially recorded the song, and later by George Jones. Chris Stapleton brought back the classic tune into popularity.

At first, Greycloud began off singing soft and slow, giving her voice time to build.

However, she still had Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson shouting for joy over the highest point of her performance even in those delicate moments.

The power in her voice developed as the melody progressed. Soon, she was belting out notes that were way up in the sky.

Though Clarkson and Hudson couldn’t contain their emotion all through the performance, Greycloud was not picked as the winner of the knockout.

Clarkson then settled on the choice to release her. Meanwhile, after watching her noteworthy performance, Shelton used his one steal on her, proving he has solid confidence in her ability.
