In the premiere episode of season 11 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," the family get together to discuss Greg's health. He admitted that so far the lowest point in his journey was the day he was diagnosed.

“I guess the scariest part about all of this is when we got to the hospital and the doctor saying that we need to do surgery on you tonight or you ain’t going to make it. And so I went over and prayed to God and I told Him, ‘If it’s time, let’s go. I don’t fear death, I don’t want to go. If my work here is finished here, take care of them, let’s go."

The words from Greg stunned the room, but he continued to reveal even more. He turned to Nene and told her he had written a letter to her before he went into surgery.

He said he wrote it in case he did not make it through the surgery. He instructed his doctor to give Nene the letter if he did not survive.

Nene and Greg have tried to remain as confident as possible. They have been overwhelmed with the support and prayers they've received from fans, friends, and family.

Nene thanked everyone who took the time to recommend cleanses, diets and holistic health care. She also took the opportunity to say that Greg is doing much better.

Gregg and NeNe married in 1997. They have two sons together. In 2011 they divorced but remarried in a lavish ceremony in 2013.
