Man falls through Waffle House ceiling, pushes customers and runs away in viral video
A man suspected of attempted theft fell off a ceiling of a Waffle House to the surprise and amusement of the establishment’s customers. The man was in his underwear when he fell and caused chaos before fleeing the scene.
A 27-year-old man was caught on video falling off the roof of a Waffle House in Birmingham, Alabama. The clip taken by one of the customers reveals a small portion of the ceiling slowly collapsing before it gave away to the man’s weight and caused him to come crashing down.
CHAOS AFTER THE CRASH
The man who was only in a sleeveless t-shirt and his underwear attempted to flee when an employee shouted, “Don’t go anywhere!” This prompted him to start wreaking chaos, pushing customers and employees blocking him from leaving out of his way. He managed to leave the establishment and speed off in his car.
WHY WAS HE IN THE CEILING?
Police who responded to the scene discovered through the store’s surveillance camera that the man went into the bathroom and locked himself there. He tied his jeans to the door before climbing into the ceiling.
Tuscumbia police chief Tony Logan described the man as “high as a kite.” Investigators believed he was a thief attempting to get to the restaurant’s office but accidentally fell off the ceiling on his way.
MAN IDENTIFIED AND WANTED BY POLICE
Through the identification he left in his pants, police identified the man as Wesley Glenn Bost. He’s currently wanted for the damages he caused at the Waffle House and may be charged with criminal mischief. Police officer John Woodrum described the store’s destruction as “consistent with what you would see with storm damage.”
“There was insulation everywhere. There were ceiling tiles broken, and they were scattered throughout the business.”
Bost led a car chase with the police when he left the restaurant but eventually left his car and ran on foot.
CUSTOMERS CRACKING UP
The customers in the restaurant couldn’t believe what they saw and appeared to be amused more than scared. Woodrum said they were laughing and documenting the rare occurrence.
HALF-NAKED WOMAN FALLS OFF CEILING
The incident closely resembles another case in Kingsport, Tennessee when a half-naked woman fell from the ceiling of a BBQ restaurant, not once, but twice. Unlike, Bost, the woman was arrested by the police in the dining area.
SCARY CREATURES FALLING FROM A CEILING
Meanwhile, a family in Brisbane had a scarier experience of not a person, but two snakes falling off their ceiling. The 1.75 meters long male coastal carpet pythons were reportedly fighting over who gets to mate the female snake nearby when they fell inside the family’s spare bedroom. In a video taken after they fell, the snakes were evidently wrestling and trying to gain dominance of the other. Snake Catchers responded to the scene to take the non-poisonous snakes away.
