In July 2016, Toya's two brothers, Rudy and Joshua, were shot to death after a run-in with several residents of a group of brick apartment buildings. The apartments were situated on the upriver side of the 7th ward street in Louisianna.

Now two years later, Toya and her family are returning to New Orleans to visit their graves. In a clip for an upcoming episode of "T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle" fans were given an inside glance at the painful moment for the family.

The visit marked the anniversary of their deaths. Toya along with her older daughter, Reginae Carter, and their family gathered in New Orleans to visit her late brothers' grave sites.

HER BROTHERS' DEATHS:

Both Rudy and Joshua had suffered multiple gunshot wounds which resulted in their deaths. According to a neighbor, the brothers had an altercation with a group of people from a nearby block of flats.

Police found The Johnson brothers shot multiple times inside a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. It was parked with the engine running in the 2800 block of Pauger Street.

In 2017, it was reported that Antoine Edwards was charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the shooting of Rudy and Joshua. The arrest came after multiple tip-offs from witnesses implicated a man named “Toine” or “Tweezy.”

Several witnesses identified Edwards as the man with those nicknames during a lineup. Witnesses could also place Edwards near the scene of the murder and around the time of the murder.

After receiving the news of her brother's death, Toya released a statement saying, "It was the worst news ever. Murders happen every day and this is another dark night in New Orleans. You hear about stories like this all the time, but it doesn’t really hit you until you get that call. It hits so close to home.”
