Bridges, 53, took a punch to the head as he was helping a friend evict a tenant. TMZ obtained footage of the incident that shows the actor confronting someone off-camera when suddenly, he jerks his head backward from the blow’s impact and goes crashing to the floor. The force leaves Bridges dazed for more than 20 seconds after which he gets back on his feet. He then staggers away unsteadily.
TMZ reported that the former child star was helping his neighbor who uses a wheelchair evict a woman from his house and that it was the woman’s boyfriend who threw the punch. The alleged assailant fled the scene, but no police report has been filed.

Bridges spoke about the situation and said he was glad to have taken the punch:
“No one likes to be sucker punched, but I am glad that I was there to help my neighbor, who was faced with a potentially dangerous situation. Much rather it was me, and not my neighbor.”
Bridges, who played Willis Jackson in the hit family comedy series for eight years, was recently involved in another altercation of sorts.

In September, the actor finally got a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, adult film star, Melissa Hill. Bridges shared updates of the situation with fans via Twitter. In one tweet, he said:
“This girl Melissa Hill is not telling the truth about anything it so sad when you have to break it off with a person who just wants to argue all a time so when. I break it off she wants to tell lies on me it's so sad that someone has to be this way”
Bridges broke up with Hill in August, and according to him, she tweeted about him 8,000 times, left threatening voice messages, and got one of her male friends to intimidate him with a promise to “take care of” him.
Bridges has also had troubles with the law, drug abuse, and once tried to commit suicide. He and his wife of 14 years, Dori, divorced in 2012. The pair shares a son, Spencir.
Following the death of the actress, Charlotte Rae in August, Bridges became the last living cast member of “Diff'rent Strokes.” He has gone on to appear in other films, and TV series, including “Everybody Hates Chris.”
