During his speech, Prince Charles said, "Incidentally, ladies and gentlemen, my son Harry tells me that during their recent tour of Australia, he and his wife were offered countless thoughtful suggestions for the naming of their forthcoming baby.”

Then, he quipped, “Just between us. I suspect that Kylie and Shane may possibly make the shortlist,” taking inspiration from the two famous stars, Kylie Minogue and Shane Warne.

Afterward, Prince Charles made another joke about confirming to the public that the child will not be named Edna or Les. He was referring to comedian Barry Humphries’s stage and television alter egos, Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson. Humphries was reportedly present at the event.

While Prince Charles’ suggestions were adorable, Kylie and Shane seem like unusual names to be picked by members of the royal family. In the past, royals have always chosen traditional and strong names for their children.

For instance, Prince William and Kate Middleton chose the names George, Charlotte, and Louis for their three children.

Expedia conducted research that showed the most famous royal names ever since Queen Victoria sat on the throne. For boys, the most common name is Albert, while it is Victoria for the girls.

As for Prince Harry and Markle’s baby, SkyBet revealed that James is the number one choice by the public. Other names following closely are Alice, Arthur, and Diana.

Recently, Prince Charles has reportedly been making “a big effort” to spend more time with his grandchildren. In the past, he said he doesn’t get to spend time with them as much as he wanted because of his royal responsibilities.

Fans were able to see how playful Prince Charles can be with his grandchildren when the official family portraits to mark his 70th birthday were released. A body language expert was able to examine the photos, and she explained the heir’s personality based on his poses.
