However, this month, her husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman shared the devastating news that she was battling the disease again.

“Dog the Bounty Hunter” star Duane “Dog” Chapman, 65, revealed this week that his wife’s throat cancer was back. Speaking about Beth Chapman, 51, he stated:

“She had a lump in her throat twice the size of last time, and they performed an emergency surgery yesterday. They cut a hole in her throat so she can breathe; she can still talk.”

On Wednesday, the couple’s lawyer Andrew Brettler spoke on the matter via email:

"I can confirm that unfortunately, her cancer has returned. The doctors say it’s serious and are evaluating her treatment options. We’re all hoping for the best."

He revealed that Beth went into the hospital on Tuesday where she was operated on to remove a cancerous mass from her throat. In the statement, Brettler also thanked everyone who’s prayed and shown love and kindness to the star.

The reality star was hospitalized on Tuesday morning when a blockage in her throat kept her from breathing. The night before she was fine.

Reports state that she woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe and she was rushed to the emergency room. By mid-afternoon she was in recovery, however, doctors “found something in her lung, which may also be cancerous.”

On Wednesday, Beth had a biopsy. Sources close to the star said she "knew something was up," and suspected that her struggle with cancer might not be over months ago.

An insider revealed:

“Beth had not been feeling well for a number of months and finally decided to get checked out. She needed to see her specialist, who is based in Los Angeles. Thankfully, she did when she did. It could have been dramatically worse if she never had that appointment.”

Speaking after her first battle with cancer, Beth said:

"Prior to my surgery I had no lines no wrinkles a perfect neck if you will. It has been very hard to look at this in the mirror, it serves as a constant reminder of something I’d love to forget."

She added:

"However some life lessons you should never forget only learn from them and learn to embrace them so today I reveal my worst battle scar and know that things will get better in #2018"
