One of the factors that keep the viewers of "The Voice" glued to their screens is the friendly rivalry between coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

The two men's banter and competitiveness spice up the show and has made "The Voice" the most successful talent show to date. Now, Levine is encouraging fellow coach Kelly Clarkson to toughen up and take a swing at his Nemesis, Blake Shelton, reported Entertainment Online on December 3, 2018.

“I wish she went a little harder. She’ll slap him around, but she won’t stomach punch him. I want to see some stomach punches.”

GANGING UP ON BLAKE SHELTON

As the 2018 "The Voice" season nears its end and the competition reaches fever pitch, Levine has been trying to chevvy Clarkson into taking a hard line with their greatest rival.

Shelton has coached six "The Voice" champions over the course of the series, compared to Levine's 3 and Clarkson's 1. Shelton's list of winners is impressive, having given the world such talents as Chloe Kohanski, Sundance Head, Craig Wayne Boyd, Danielle Bradbery, Cassadee Pope and Jermaine Paul.

"PUNCH HIM IN THE N*TS!"

Levine appealed to Clarkson to help him "take down" Shelton by "busting his chops." The Maroon 5 star went on to describe in detail exactly how he envisioned Clarkson attacking Shelton:

“I want to see some stomach punches. I want her to punch him in the face. I want her to punch him in the nuts.”

To this last appeal, Clarkson quipped cheekily: “I’m so short, I’m like right there!”

LEVINE TEASES CLARKSON MERCILESSLY

Shelton is not the only one to get an earful from Levine. The feisty coach has on occasion turned on his sometime-ally, Clarkson, and given her a hard time too.

Clarkson complained that Levine had teased her mercilessly over the gawky adoration she displayed when meeting iconic songstress Cher:

“He sent a picture in our group text cause all these boys do is make fun of me. I sent him back a thing with some choice words like, ‘I was living my best life, I don’t even care about you right now.’”

SEASON 15 IS HEADING FOR A HOTLY CONTESTED FINALE

Tensions ran high as two artists were eliminated from "The Voice" season 15 with coaches Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton waiting nervously for the results.

The 3 performers with the lowest scores competed for the Instant Save, which can rescue only one artist. The three fighting to survive the elimination were Reagan Strange, DeAndre Nico, and Dave Fenley.

Strange was too sick to sing, but she was still eligible for voting. Surprisingly, her situation won the audience's compassion, and she won the Instant Save.

In a related story, Abby Cates sang Kelly Clarkson song on an episode of “The Voice,” and she dazzled the judges and the audience with her interpretation.
