Tristan Thompson gets slammed after joking 'Christmas is going to be more expensive' with 2 kids

NBA player and Khloe Kardashian’s baby daddy Tristan Thompson made what he thought was a harmless joke, but didn’t expect what came next.

People obtained an exclusive clip of “Kickin’ it with Kickstradomis” where Tristan commissioned the famed custom sneaker designer, Salvador Amezcua, to customize a pair of white Nikes with the names of his children -- one-year-old son Prince Oliver who he shares with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig, and seven-month-old True Thompson, his daughter with his current girlfriend, Khloé Kardashian.

During the show, Tristan joked with Amezcua:

“I got a son that’s 16 months and I have a daughter, so Christmas is going to be a little more expensive. We gotta buy more gifts now.”

“You gotta take care of the little ones, make sure they’re good,” added the 27-year-old.

The Cleveland Cavaliers Power-Forward further explained: “We all have our motivations in life and for me, it’s my kids. They push me every day and keep me going. It gives me that extra motivation that I need.”

And when Amezcua gave him a spray-paint gun to try his hands at customizing, Tristan said:

“I can’t mess this up, I can’t mess this up for True. She’ll judge me.”

CRITICISM FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

No sooner had the clip been published that social media users came for the basketball star.

“His boy needs his time, not gifts. Minus Klo!!” tweeted one Twitter account. Another quipped:

“Yup when you hook up with women and it results in a baby, it's expensive but more importantly, it requires your time. I don't see him being a hands on parent. Khloe will see the light.”

A third person added: “Obviously he doesn’t believe in birth control, so you pay to play buddy.”

THE INTERNET NEVER FORGETS

Although things appear to be back to normal between Khloé and Tristan, netizens are not quick to forget that he allegedly cheated on her throughout her pregnancy with True.

Hollywood Life recently reported that the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star is tired of people maltreating her baby daddy because of the cheating scandal.

KHLOÉ WANTS TO MOVE FORWARD

A source close to Khloé allegedly said the 34-year-old is ready to put the past behind and “move ahead as a happy family.”

The source added:

“Khloé appreciates that people want to have her back but she does not feel that she needs protection from Tristan at this point. She is choosing to see the best in Tristan and she is hoping that her fans, her friends and her family will all do the same. Khloé is ready for a happy new chapter and is very much looking forward to the new year.”

It would appear true that Khloé and Tristan are genuinely past their rocky beginning since they spent this past Thanksgiving and Halloween together with their daughter as a family. The couple also made sure to share pics from their celebrations with fans on social media.
