Kylie Jenner's mini-documentary 'To Our Daughter' is top-trending YouTube video of 2018
YouTube recently released the list of trending videos in 2018, and Kylie Jenner’s mini-documentary titled “To our daughter” is at the top.
The 11-minute video, released on February 4, has garnered almost 78 million views so far. If that was not impressive enough, the fact that it got 53 million only in the first week made it even more remarkable.
“To our daughter” was a video that Kylie and her boyfriend Travis Scott recorded throughout her pregnancy to show it to their daughter, Stormi Webster, when she gets older.
One of the aspects that made the clip so viral is that Kylie had kept her baby news a secret. While several news outlets shared rumors about it, neither the makeup mogul nor her family said a word about it. She never stopped posting photos, though, but not a single one of them revealed her pregnancy.
THE VIDEO
The first couple of seconds of the video showed when Kylie was born to Kris and Bruce Jenner 21 years ago. Later, it portrayed the reality star’s friends talking to the camera and explaining the way they found out she was pregnant.
After that, Kylie and Travis celebrated her birthday, went to the doctor’s appointment, and appeared together doing a lot of different things. Reaching the end of the clip, Kim Kardashian’s daughter, Chicago, made her first appearance in social media, too.
At the end of the video, Stormi’s cry was heard, and the first glimpse of her was shown. Finally, there was the baby’s date of birth – February 1, 2018, 4:43 p.m. – and her weight – 8 pounds 9 ounces.
Recently, Kylie fueled marriage rumors after she shared a pic of Travis alongside a diamond ring emoji as a way to congratulate him on his song and album reaching Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and Billboard 200 chart respectively. Even though neither of them have confirmed or denied their marriage rumors, Kylie set clear that she knows how to keep a secret out of the public eye for a long time.
THE NEXT TWO CLIPS OF THE LIST
In the second spot in the YouTube’s trending list was a video called “Real Life Trick Shots 2” from the channel Dude Perfect with 135 million views. The third slot went for the clip wherein longtime YouTubers Liza Koshy and David Dobrik announced their separation.
That split, which got 14 million views in its first 24 hours, has now 47 million. According to YouTube’s head of culture and trends Kevin Allocca, they are “like the Brangelina of the YouTube generation.
