For the rapper, cars have never been just a hobby — they have served as markers of different chapters in his life, from cruising through Los Angeles in his first muscle car to celebrating chart-topping success in the Dodge Challenger that inspired one of his biggest hits.

In 2022, Wiz Khalifa partnered with Esquire to showcase his extensive car collection, giving fans an inside look at the vehicles that have accompanied him through different stages of his life and career.

Arranged from oldest to newest at his California home, the collection reflected his love of classic American cars, custom builds, and modern luxury.

1956 Chevrolet Bel Air

The oldest vehicle in Khalifa's collection was a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, a car he described as an important piece for any serious classic Chevy enthusiast.

Unlike many collector cars, the Bel Air arrived largely complete, requiring no major cosmetic work. The engine had already been rebuilt, allowing it to run smoothly while preserving its vintage character.

For Khalifa, the Bel Air is more than a collector's item. He called it a "really fun family car" and frequently uses it to make memories with his son. The vehicle's period-correct styling, combined with its unique police lights, gives it a playful personality that continues to draw attention wherever it goes.

1961 Chevrolet Impala

Among all the vehicles in his garage, Khalifa singled out his 1961 Chevrolet Impala as his favorite. Equipped with hydraulic switches, custom wheels, a powerful sound system, and a convertible top, the Impala became a centerpiece of the car club he helped start during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What began as a small gathering of friends eventually grew into a group of dozens of enthusiasts who met every Sunday. The car also holds some of his favorite family memories.

He recalled taking his son, Sebastian, on drives and visiting rapper Snoop Dogg's compound for movie nights. Reflecting on the experience, Khalifa noted, "Like, the same thing that you see when you get from this car, the same thing that people did in 1961 in this car, I was able to do in 2020."

1962 Chevrolet Impala

Another standout in the collection is Khalifa's black 1962 Chevrolet Impala, a project car he has continued refining over the years. The lowrider features custom-painted seats, a moonroof, hydraulic switches, and additional batteries that allow it to perform dramatic three-wheel lifts.

However, the car's significance extends beyond its modifications. The rapper revealed that Snoop Dogg once gave him advice that changed how he approached vehicles in music videos:

"If they ever put you next to a car, you got to own it."

Taking that advice seriously, Khalifa began investing in and customizing the cars that appeared alongside him, with this Impala becoming one of the earliest examples. Over time, he upgraded the rims, adjusted the paint, and improved the audio system, transforming it into a highly personal project.

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

The "Black and Yellow" rapper's 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS represents an important turning point in his life — it was the first muscle car he built after relocating to Los Angeles.

While the vehicle embodies the freedom and excitement of Southern California car culture, it also carries one of the collection's more dramatic stories. Khalifa admitted he crashed the Chevelle while leaving a video shoot. Fortunately, he was unharmed, and the car was eventually rebuilt.

"We rebuilt it and put it back together," he noted. Today, it remains a reminder of late nights in the studio, drives through Hollywood, and the realization of a dream he had long imagined.

According to Khalifa, the Chevelle still smells exactly as it did years ago, preserving memories of that period every time he gets behind the wheel.

1972 Chevrolet El Camino

The 1972 Chevrolet El Camino arrived in Khalifa's garage under unusual circumstances — it was a gift. However, unlike several of his other cars, which underwent extensive customization, the El Camino came already equipped with upgraded wheels and leather upholstery. He shared:

"It came to me exactly how it is — rims on it, leather in there. It drives great."

Khalifa also appreciated the vehicle's balance between classic styling and muscle-car performance. While some classics are best enjoyed on relaxed weekend drives, he described the El Camino as a car that can truly be pushed.

Its deep, clean engine note remains one of his favorite qualities as well, helping distinguish it from the more luxury-oriented classics in his collection.

1992 C4 Corvette

Khalifa's 1992 C4 Corvette has a connection to his music career. The car appeared in the video for "Bake Sale," his collaboration with Travis Scott. At the time, it was covered in bright neon paint as part of the production design, but he saw potential beneath the flashy exterior.

After acquiring it, he repainted the car, refreshed the interior, and upgraded the sound system. He particularly enjoys the Corvette's distinctly 1990s character, saying, "I love the shape of the car. I love how fast it is and how it handles and how it drives through traffic."

Dodge Challenger SRT8

Few vehicles are more closely associated with Khalifa than his black-and-yellow Dodge Challenger SRT8. The car famously inspired "Black and Yellow," the song that became his first No. 1 hit and helped cement his place in mainstream hip-hop.

According to Khalifa, he purchased the Challenger before writing the track, simply because it represented everything he wanted in a muscle car. The vehicle quickly became a symbol of his growing success, as he recalled:

"The first one [...] that made me had to move out of Pittsburgh because I was too popular and everybody knew who I was and they knew my car. But I didn't care 'cause it was worth it. When I first got this car, I was a mad man."

Looking back, he described it as the first vehicle that truly felt like a "Wiz Khalifa car," making it one of the most important pieces in his collection.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

Years later, another Challenger joined the garage under far different circumstances. While working as a DJ, Khalifa was booked to perform at a Dodge event celebrating the release of the Demon. Rather than accepting the full payment in cash, he proposed a different arrangement.

"They were going to offer me this insane amount of money, but I'm like, 'You guys are Dodge, why don't you invest that money in a vehicle and just give me that?'" the rapper shared.

The company agreed, using the budget to customize a Challenger SRT Hellcat specifically for him. Khalifa selected the color and racing stripe package, creating a personalized muscle car that remains one of the fastest vehicles he owns.

Its upgraded audio system has also become a useful tool while working on new music, allowing him to test mixes in a real-world environment.

2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan

At the newest end of the collection sits a 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan. "Honestly, I feel like all of my hard work just went full circle and brought me here," he shared.

Unlike many of his earlier purchases, which reflected his passion for performance and customization, the Cullinan represents family, comfort, and accomplishment.

The spacious interior, starlight headliner, and luxurious appointments made it a natural fit for this stage of his life. Khalifa jokingly described the SUV as a "mansion on wheels" and said driving it makes him feel accomplished and composed, adding:

"The way I feel when I'm driving this car is, like, really, really accomplished, really poised. I don't know if Frank Sinatra ever drove, but like Frank Sinatra, if he was driving — that's how I feel."

A Collection Built on Memories

Whether it's the Bel Air he enjoys with his son, the Impala that became the centerpiece of Sunday cruises, or the Challenger that inspired a career-defining hit, each car represents a specific chapter in Wiz Khalifa's journey.

Rather than focusing solely on horsepower or rarity, Khalifa's stories revealed why these vehicles remain important to him years later: they are rolling reminders of friendships, family moments, creative breakthroughs, and milestones that helped shape his life.
