How Wiz Khalifa's Workout Reels Sparked Bootleg Kev's 25-Pound Transformation
A fitness habit that started as social media content ended up inspiring more people than the rapper realized. During a podcast appearance, he learned that one familiar face had undergone a major transformation after watching his workout videos.
Wiz Khalifa's workout videos did more than rack up views on social media. According to Bootleg Kev, they also played a role in helping him lose weight.

During a 2022 appearance on "The Bootleg Kev Podcast," Khalifa and the host discussed the rapper's increasingly popular workout content, which had become a regular feature on social media. Early in the conversation, Kev thanked Khalifa for the unexpected motivation.
"I want to thank you because your workout videos motivated me, man," the host said. When Khalifa asked what he meant, Kev revealed just how significant the impact had been.

"Listen, I'm down 25 pounds right now, and I was like, 'Man, if this guy could be in the studio all night and then go to the gym every [expletive] day,'" he shared, referring to the workout clips Khalifa frequently shared online at the time.
However, while some viewers focused on his training routine, others paid attention to entirely different aspects of the videos.

Khalifa appeared genuinely appreciative of the compliment. "Thank you, man," he replied before explaining that he had continued prioritizing fitness himself.
The rapper also revealed that he had intentionally taken a short break from posting workout content. "More workout videos coming for the summer," Khalifa said. "I had to take a little break just so people would miss them."

According to Khalifa, the clips had generated reactions he never expected. He joked that he had started exercising in his underwear because it was more comfortable, while Kev admitted he had adopted the same approach.
However, while some viewers focused on his training routine, others paid attention to entirely different aspects of the videos. He said:
"There was some crazy interviews, like, I would hear like women talking about me in, like, a wild-[expletive] way. I was like, 'Whoa.'"

Although the attention caught him off guard, Khalifa insisted the purpose of the videos was always fitness. "That wasn't the goal. I was literally trying to show my workout," he explained.
As the discussion continued, Kev pointed out that Khalifa's consistency was what impressed him most. The host recalled seeing the rapper enjoy late nights while still finding the discipline to wake up early and train the next morning.

"There'd be times where I'd be, like, I'd see you the night before and I'd be like, 'Damn,'" Kev said. Khalifa confirmed that nothing had changed, responding, "Yeah, no, I love that [expletive], dawg. [...] We're gonna freakin' rage and then I'm gonna be up in the morning in my draws working out."
The exchange highlighted a recurring theme throughout the interview: Khalifa viewed fitness as a non-negotiable part of his lifestyle. Whether he was at home or on tour, he made it clear that working out remained a priority, even after long nights on the road.

The rapper also broke down his workout schedule, explaining that he trained five days a week. His routine included dedicated leg, chest, shoulder, and back days, while biceps and triceps were incorporated throughout various workouts.
Beyond the physical transformation, however, Khalifa emphasized the mental benefits that came with committing to fitness.

The conversation also touched on how Khalifa views older photos and videos of himself from before he fully committed to fitness. When asked whether he ever looks back at footage from his earlier years, the rapper admitted that his reaction is often far from nostalgic.
"It's sickening, bro," he said before joking, "I'd be like, 'That's gross.' I'll be like, 'Get that footage out of there.'" While some people might see those images as a reminder of how far he has come, Khalifa explained that they also represent a different stage of his life.

He said there was a broader lifestyle change that accompanied his physical transformation, which is why he does not always view his former self in a positive light.
"There's lifestyle change that goes with that," Khalifa shared. "So when you see that person — not that person, but when you see yourself not at your best or on your way to your best, you don't really look at that in the best way."
Beyond the physical transformation, however, Khalifa emphasized the mental benefits that came with committing to fitness. Looking back at older photos and videos from earlier in his career, he admitted he preferred the healthier version of himself and noted:
"For me, I love the transformation, but it's how I feel, and it's mentally a transformation as well."
Khalifa explained that fitness eventually became such a central part of his life that he could not imagine living without it. He contrasted his current mindset with his younger years, when he paid far less attention to exercise, nutrition, and maintaining a healthy weight.
The rapper added that he still enjoys many of his favorite foods but focuses on consuming enough calories and balancing his diet with fruits and vegetables to support his fitness goals.
His comments resonated with many viewers, several of whom said Khalifa's transformation had inspired their own fitness ambitions. One commenter summed up the sentiment with a simple message, writing, "Motivational."
Others shared how Khalifa's commitment to fitness had encouraged them to make changes in their own lives. One person commented, "Igotta get on my workout game s/o wiz [sic]."
Another individual wrote, "Im skinny guy here that likes his music. Honestly he is a role model for me. Working out to look like him [sic]." Several commenters also praised the rapper's personal growth over the years.
One netizen shared, "Wiz's transformation and glow up has [sic] been truly inspiring." Another person expressed admiration for Khalifa's evolution, writing, "Ayeeee my boy wiz came such a long wayyy I'm soooo proud of him bro [sic]."
Taken together, the reactions echoed the story Kev shared at the start of the interview. What began as a personal fitness routine eventually became a source of motivation for others, proving that Wiz Khalifa's influence extended well beyond music.
For some people, that influence translated into healthier habits. For Kev, it resulted in a 25-pound weight loss and a firsthand reminder that inspiration can sometimes come from the most unexpected places.
