The Unexpected Hobby: Wiz Khalifa's Passion for One Unlikely Sport

Fans know him for his music, but away from the stage, the rapper has spent years sharpening an unlikely skill that even surprised Logan Paul during a podcast appearance.
During a 2022 appearance on Logan Paul's "Impaulsive" podcast, Wiz Khalifa surprised the hosts by revealing that one of his biggest hobbies is bowling.

After one of the hosts admitted he was shocked by the rapper's ability at the bowling alley, the musician laughed off the compliment while embracing his reputation. "I'm a [expletive] nerd, dog," he said.
Asked whether there was another skill he had been quietly working on, Khalifa revealed he already had another goal in mind.

When Paul asked what the "nerdiest" thing about him was, the rapper did not hesitate. "Probably the bowling," he replied. The podcast host then asked whether he had ever bowled a perfect 300 game.
"Not yet. Almost, y'all," the musician answered. When asked what his highest score was, he revealed he had come remarkably close — "287."

The Rapper Says Bowling Is Just One of His Hidden Talents
The conversation soon shifted from bowling itself to the hobbies celebrities pursue away from the spotlight, with Paul comparing Khalifa's bowling ability to actor Tom Hardy's surprise success in Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments.

"I feel like that's one of those things where you could probably enter a bowling competition, take the cake, and everyone's like, 'Yo, Wiz Khalifa; best bowler we've ever seen,'" the social media personality said.
Asked whether there was another skill he had been quietly working on, Khalifa revealed he already had another goal in mind. "I'm about to get good at golf. That's going to be my new [expletive]," he shared.

During the tournament, they challenged a team of senior bowlers known as the Shatto Senior All Stars in a friendly but competitive matchup.
The conversation later turned to pickleball after one of the hosts asked whether the "Black and Yellow" rapper had ever played the rapidly growing sport.

The Pittsburgh native admitted he had never even heard of it before listening as the hosts explained why so many celebrities had become interested in the game.
Instead, Khalifa jokingly explained why he often found himself discovering new hobbies through his friends. "That's why I like hanging around white people..." he quipped.

Wiz Khalifa Took His Bowling Skills Into Competition
Khalifa's enthusiasm for bowling extends well beyond casual games. In 2021, he and several members of Taylor Gang hosted the Taylor Gang Invitational Bowling Tournament.
During the tournament, they challenged a team of senior bowlers known as the Shatto Senior All Stars in a friendly but competitive matchup.

Before the competition began, both teams were introduced with their highest bowling scores, underscoring that the event was about more than celebrity entertainment.
The veteran lineup featured Pat, whose perfect 300 game highlighted her credentials, alongside Huey with a high score of 279 and Sal with a top score of 235.

Taylor Gang also showcased experienced bowlers of its own, including Chevy, whose personal best stood at 299, Ricky P. with 264, and Khalifa, who entered the competition with a high score of 267.
As the tournament got underway, both teams started strongly, with each side opening on a perfect score.

Despite the lighthearted atmosphere, the rapper made it clear his team intended to compete. "I know people think that it's funny because we're celebrities, but we really bowl seriously," he said. "We'll take on anybody."
He also joked about facing their more experienced opponents, adding, "We got some older folks that we're gonna respectfully beat the [expletive] out of in some bowling."

The senior bowlers were equally confident heading into the matchup. "First of all, they're too young," one competitor joked. "Next thing of it is they just fun bowlers."
Another added, "They're messing with senior citizens right here." As the tournament got underway, both teams started strongly, with each side opening on a perfect score.

However, by the halfway point, the experienced Shatto Senior All Stars had established a commanding projected lead of 214 to Taylor Gang's 128. The veterans ultimately secured the victory, but the result hardly overshadowed the spirit of the event.
Throughout the tournament, players from both teams laughed together, shared food, and enjoyed the friendly rivalry, turning the competition into a celebration of bowling rather than simply a battle for bragging rights.

Years after revealing that bowling was one of his biggest passions, Wiz Khalifa's comments reflected what the Taylor Gang Invitational had already shown.
Whether he is chasing his first perfect game, joking with podcast hosts about his unexpected hobby, or taking on seasoned bowlers alongside his friends, the rapper has embraced the sport with the same enthusiasm that has made him a formidable presence on the lanes.
