The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted a special Christmas party at Kensington Palace for the families of RAF personnel who have to celebrate the holiday season without their loved one.

Prince William and Kate Middleton participated along with other over 200 partners, children, and parents of the service men and women who are away for their duty during the Christmas period.

In a day full of fun-filled activities, the Duke and the Duchess got involved in chocolate truffle making, Christmas card decorating and party games.

While the royal couple took time to play with many other children, they left out their own children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – from the event, much to the disappointment of the fans of the royal family.

William then gave a simple excuse, which many parents can most definitely agree to.

Although 7-month-old Prince Louis is far too young to participate in the event, five-year-old George and three-year-old Charlotte are of the perfect age to enjoy the special Christmas party.

Consequently, many people noticed the absence of the little prince and princess. One female guest at the wedding even got on to Prince William and asked him about why he had not brought them in the event.

William then gave a simple excuse, which many parents can most definitely agree to. “Because I can’t do this and look after the children,” he told the woman.

Although the royal couple came without their children, they did not shy away from participating from all the fun activities. If anything, it seemed like they had fun for their kids as well.

William and Middleton made the festive treats as well as cards and also participated in a party game, Santa’s Footsteps, where they had to pretend to be reindeer seeking sweets. Middleton also got herself involved in a snowball fight with other children.

Back in 2016, the couple also participated in a similar party, during their tour of Canada, thrown in the honor of the military families.

Unlike in the recent party, they had then brought along their children, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, as well. The royal children absolutely stole the show with their adorable antics.
