The British Royal Family have experience with receiving scrutiny. However, a recent attack on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went too far in its negative opinion of the couple.

The British branch of an American Neo-Nazi group has posted violent threats towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle online. They have expressed their desire for the Duke to be assassinated.

The group considers Prince Harry a “race traitor” for marrying Meghan. The British Royal Family’s bloodline is relatively straightforward and purely white, while Meghan is of mixed race. This is the group’s issue with her.

REACTION TO THREATS

The Neo-Nazi group, known as Sonnenkreig Division, is being investigated by the North East Counter Terrorism Unit following the BBC’s coverage of the group.

The Sonnenkrieg Division has been linked to five murders in the USA this year. The group train in hand-to-hand combat as well as firearms. Their vision includes the killing of all police officers.

The division seeks to create a “racially pure” world by eliminating everyone who is not 100% white, heterosexual, and able-bodied. This is executed through murders, attacks, and raids.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to decrease the number of public appearances they make as they want to be careful after the group’s social media posts, especially given that Meghan is pregnant.

MEGHAN’S MISSION

Meghan is not letting her pregnancy keep her at home. She is continuing to work towards her goals, one of which is championing female education.

The Duchess of Sussex had a private meeting at King’s College in London where she met with staff and students to discuss global issues; such as climate change and gender-based violence.

This meeting follows a similar meeting she recently attended with former US First Lady Michelle Obama where the two discussed education and how it can be made accessible for all girls.
