Dad brilliantly ends toddler's public tantrum outside Walmart

Terrel Crawford from Ohio went viral after he expertly handled his daughter temper tantrum while out shopping at Walmart.

His video has been viewed more than 22 million times on Facebook alone, with 610,000 reactions and more than 340,000 shares.

It starts out with Crawford standing by his car looking into the camera with his daughter crying in the background.

The caption reads: "When spoiled ass kids get told NO in Walmart." He doesn't say anything for the first few seconds.

Eventually, Crawford looks at her and asks: "You done?" When she nods her head, he says it "sounds like you're still on it."

Crawford asks her if she's ready to start listening and stop whining and screaming, to which she's also nodding her hand. He says:

"I'm not taking you back into Walmart until you stop with your mess. [...] If we going back into the store and do it again, we're coming back out."

Crawford explains to her that he as all the time in the world to sit outside and there's no need for him to move.

He says that the girl's mother can continue the shopping trip without him and adds that accompanying her mother to the store is a privilege, not a right.

Crawford then addresses his audience and says this is what happens when children are spoiled, and says that often parents don't know how to say no to their children.

He clarified that he doesn't "beat his kids" because he grew up in a house where his mother beat him and his siblings regularly.

Crawford doesn't want that for his daughter, but he will discipline in her other ways and she needs to realize as her father, he's allowed to say "no." He added:

"You [children] don't throw a fit in Walmart and then gets praised for it."

He then tells his daughter to wipe her face like a big girl and "get all the stress off" her face. He asks her if she's ready to "suck it up."

When she says no, he informs her that they will not go back into Walmart then. He makes it clear that if she doesn't behave, she will not get the privilege to go shopping again.

He explains his reason behind this to the audience once again:

"I'm not about to argue with no 3-year-old. [...] I'm the daddy, I'm grown. We're about to sit down until the [child] stops acting like a fool."

If his daughter wants to keep screaming, she can do it outside, in the parking lot, and they will sit there until she learns to behave herself.

Crawford urges parents to remain calm. He wrote in the caption of his YouTube post:

"Its typical for a child to throw a tantrum in the store, not each occasion calls for a whooping or yelling. It does more harm than help and leaves long-term effects."

Crawford has continued to share more videos and advice about parenting on his Facebook page. At the time of writing, he had more than 84,000 followers.

In one of his latest videos, he addresses adults who need relationship advice and urges people to "be" in their own relationship without dragging parents or the in-laws into it.
