Jon Gosselin received a great Christmas present after he won custody of his son Collin last week, and is elated to spend the holidays with two of his children this year.

Kate and Jon Gosselin split in 2009, followed by a bitter custody battle over their eight children, twins Cara and Madelyn, both 18, and the 14-year-old sextuplets, Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Joel, and Hannah.

Hannah already lives with her father and is elated that her brother would be with them this Christmas. Jon made no secret of the fact that things between him and his ex-wife Kate are slightly less cold than chilly as he shared:

"We don't communicate. We don't even text anymore. The last time I communicated with her was either through attorneys or in court. But that's the way it's been. I guess that's just the way it works. It's a shame that we can't co-parent, and I know the whole world wants us too… but it just doesn't work."

Jon beamed on Tuesday at the Real Love: Relationship Reality TV’s Past, Present & Future event in Beverly Hills, California as he told ET’s Lauren Zima on the Red Carpet:

"He is coming home to our house, and he's going to enjoy the holiday with us, and go to school, and be with his sister, Hannah."

Happy to mention that Collin will be with him indefinitely, he had caught up on some time with his son since the start of December. Collin had been away in a schooling program for children with special needs, and this is his first time home in three years, on having his son home for the holidays Jon said:

"He's really excited, and we're really excited to have him home for the holidays. And to enjoy the rest of his childhood. He's doing really well."

The happy father added that Collin is likely to experience some adjustment issues with his move to his father’s home in Pennsylvania where he lives with his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, and her children.

During the custody hearing a week ago, the Pennsylvania judge’s decision got made easy when Kate did not show up for the proceedings and consequently awarded Jon temporary full custody.

The judge made his decision without a hearing when neither Kate or her lawyer showed up after her request to postpone the hearing got denied.

No other issues were addressed, and with custody granted to Jon, Kate will not be able to appeal.

Wendy Williams couldn't help but voice her opinion on the outcome of the custody battle over Collin. Wendy believes that Kate has her priorities all mixed with her new dating show which will be aired on TLC up as she said on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ recently:

“Kate, now she’s got this dating show that comes out next year on TLC, who cares! You have time to date, but you don’t have time to save your son?”
