The Grey’s Anatomy star had a sit down with Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, during which she spoke of her marriage to husband Chris Ivery, her relationship with former co-star Patrick Dempsey, and how she experiences life as the mother of biracial children.

Following that interview, the Today Show wrote an article, which got sent out by the official account for Kathie Lee and Hoda. The article only focused on drama at Grey’s Anatomy, after she mentioned on Red Table Talk:

“We haven’t spoken since he’s left the show. I have no hard feelings toward him, he’s a wonderful actor, and we made, you know, the best TV you could make together.”

Upset by the content of the article, when her interview actually focused on the broader conversation about race, and experience raising biracial kids as she fired a tweet:

“Hey here’s a suggestion!! Maybe all of you over there lay off the booze and pay attention to the real conversation that took place?”

About two hours later the news broke that Kathie Lee Gifford is leaving ‘Today,’ after 11 years. Kathie told viewers on air on Tuesday as she said:

“I have been in this business 120 years and never worked with a more beautiful group of people who just give, give, give every day, four hours of live television five days a week.”

Shortly after her announcement, she hinted to a replacement:

“I have my idea who might be absolutely wonderful. But there’s a great pool of talent and beauty and heart right around here. And if they come from outside the family, they will soon become family because we treat everyone that way.”

The hot favorite set to replace 65-year-old Kathie is Jenna Bush Hager. Already a constant presence on the show as she joined co-host Hoda Kotb during the summer, while Gifford was away in Scotland shooting a movie she also wrote, ‘Love Me To Death.’

Kathie Lee Gifford will bid her final farewells when she leaves on her 11th anniversary in April 2019.

Last month Ellen posted an adorable video of her with daughter Sienna. In the spirit of election season and wanting to encourage people to vote, Ellen enlisted the help of 4-year-old Sienna.

Ellen asked Sienna to say the word, “Vote” but instead she said, “boat.” Laughingly Ellen corrected her, but the second time around she said “boat” again and burst out laughing.

Sienna was clearly teasing Ellen, who couldn’t help but be amused at her sense of humor. She captioned the video, “My SiSi is like a heart on fire.”
