Fantasia melts hearts with sweet video of her look-alike son Dallas on his 7th birthday

Fantasia Barrino took to Instagram to celebrate her son Dallas’ birthday with an adorable video of the boy. The singer had a controversial relationship with Dallas’ father, but now they’re back on good terms.

The “American Idol” winner was as excited as her son for his 7th birthday, as she demonstrated with a short clip posted on Thursday to her Instagram account. In the video, Fantasia records her son Dallas as he read a birthday card.

“It’s Dallas birthday everybody!” she says behind the camera, while Dallas, wearing a black hoodie with a Snoopy print, inspects a SpongeBob SquarePants birthday card with a little friend. The singer then asks the boy to say hi, to which Dallas replies “Hey everybody!” and when asked what day is, the excited boy exclaims “It’s my birthday!”

“Please help me wish my youngest a Happy 7th Birthday,” Barrino captioned the clip. And fans didn’t fail to fulfill with her request, leaving their best wishes and blessing for Dallas on her comment section.

BIG SISTER ON DUTY

Zion Barrino, Fantasia’s teenage daughter from her relationship to ex-boyfriend Brandel Shouse, also took to her Instagram to wish her little brother a happy birthday. The 17-year-old posted a series of videos with Dallas, making funny gestures to the camera.

“It’s my little homies birthday. I love you so much! And that will never change -love from big sis-“ she captioned the heartwarming post.

FANTASIA'S STORY WITH DALLAS' FATHER

Little Dallas is the result of a tumultuous relationship between Fantasia, ex-boyfriend Antwaun Cook and his wife, Paula.

In August 2010, Paula filed divorce papers and sued Fantasia for dating Cook for a year even though she knew he was still married. Paula brought up the subject of alienation of affection laws in North Carolina. However, a judge ruled in Barrino’s favor in December, stating that Paula and Cook had ended their relationship in September 2009.

A year later, Fantasia announced she was pregnant with her second child but didn’t reveal who was the father, although fans assumed it was Cook, and they were right.

WORKING THINGS OUT

Antwain eventually fixed his marriage to Paula, and while he and Fantasia’s relationship didn’t work out, they are still great friends and co-parents for their son. A few years ago, Barrino shared a pic of Dallas with his brothers on the father side and captioned it:

“Dallas and His Brothers. He Loves Spending time with them. I Thank God For The Growth and The Great Relationship I have with His Stepmom and Dad. Growth and change…”

Antwain was also present at Dallas’ birthday celebration at Sky Zone. He also shared a birthday message for the boy on Instagram, accompanied by a set of pics and videos of the 7-year-old having fun in the trampoline park.

“And a final Happy Birthday Dallas. We had fun until the last hour. You'll be a little sleepy in the morning, but it was awesomely worth it,” the man captioned the post.

Fantasia married Kendall Taylor in 2015, and the couple is happier than ever. Taylor, Fantasia says, takes care of her children and her and she couldn’t ask for more.
