Magic Johnson hits the red carpet wife and son EJ after daughter Elisa's home invasion
Magic Johnson's family attended the opening night of Broadway's "To Kill A Mockingbird" without his daughter who recently escaped a home invasion.
Magic Johnson showed support for his close friend Samuel Jackson by attending the opening night of Broadway’s “To Kill a Mockingbird” where the actor’s wife, La Tanya Richardson stars.
FASHIONABLY IN ATTENDANCE
Magic arrived with his wife, Cookie Johnson and son EJ. The family was dressed to the nines as they posed for a photo with Samuel at the red carpet.
The NBA star who shared the pic on his Instagram wore an orange turtleneck beneath his gray plaid suit.
His wife stood out in a bright green suit paired with a white top. Meanwhile, his son EJ lived up to being a fashionable stunner wearing a burgundy fur coat with a satin shirt and shiny black pants.
Samuel, like Magic, was also dressed in an orange turtleneck but matched it with a suit in a darker shade of grey. He wore a beanie as well.
Magic and Samuel’s families are very close. They would often spend portions of their summers cruising on a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean.
It's no surprise they’d be attending La Tanya’s play along with other celebrities who showed up that night including Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Gayle King, Spike Lee, and many more.
NO-SHOW DAUGHTER'S RECENT HOME INVASION ESCAPE
Not in attendance was Magic’s daughter, Elisa, who recently survived a home invasion. She was in her room at an Airbnb she was renting with her friends when two gunmen invaded the property.
She managed to escape through a sliding door at the back of the house without the suspects knowing she was in her room.
Her 10 other friends were held at gunpoint while the men stole from them. They left with everyone uninjured. Elisa later posted a message on her Instagram stories saying, “God is so good.”
Magic has not spoken about the incident. This is the first time he’s seen in public since.
