She shared a black-and-white photo of them together from their younger days.

The “Fans of Food Network” star captioned the photo: “Instead of celebrating our 50th Anniversary (yikes!) just on the day (this coming Saturday), Jeffrey and I decided to celebrate it all week long! So I’m starting with a photograph of Jeffrey and me leaving our wedding for our honeymoon, tennis racquets in hand. It’s been an amazing 50 years!!!”

After they married, Ina left her job as a White House policy advisor and pursued her passion for culinary arts upon Jeffrey’s urging.

HOW THEY MET

Jeffrey, Dean Emeritus for the Yale School of Management, often appears in Ina’s popular cooking show, “The Barefoot Contessa”, where they would share a sumptuous meal.

They met while Ina was visiting her older brother at Dartmouth University in New Hampshire.

“I met Jeffrey when I was 15, and I have to say, I just knew he was the one. He's kind, he's smart, he's funny, and he takes very good care of me. It's wonderful,” she shared in an interview earlier this year.

After they married, Ina left her job as a White House policy advisor and pursued her passion for culinary arts upon Jeffrey’s urging.

She bought a quaint specialty foods store in Hamptons called The Barefoot Contessa when it was put up for sale in the 1970s.

INA'S RISE

Ina enjoyed success with the shop but sold it twenty years later to concentrate on writing cookbooks. She later hosted her own Food Network program, which launched her to stardom.

In an interview last year, Ina spoke about her relationship with Jeffrey. They married when she was 20 years old and he was 22.

The couple doesn’t have a child, a conscious decision that Ina said she and Jeffrey discussed early in their relationship.
