“I have never known a more brilliant and powerful human being. Thank you Daddy for an extraordinary life and legacy. What you brought to this planet is unparalleled. I am clear that you were ready. You're work here was done. And in the midst of the world's chaos and confusion, you left here with so much peace, grace and clarity. And for that I am beyond grateful. The joy of getting to spend a lifetime with you far exceeds the sadness in my heart. I can't wait to receive your instructions from the other side. I love you Great Warrior! We will carry your light. The seeds you have planted in me have set the foundation for the healing work that has become my life. Your legacy continues... @therealdickgregory.”

She didn't stop at that, however, and posted another video of herself paying tribute yet again to her late dad. She spoke about how lucky she felt that she was able to dedicate a song to her dad, which made him cry back in 2007. According to Ayanna, her dad even said that while Malcolm, Martin, and Medgar never got the chance to hear their children talk about them, he was able to hear his daughter sing a song for him. She wrote,

“So grateful that I honored my father @therealdickgregory while he was here. When I first sang this song to my father, he cried and said, "Malcolm, Martin and Medgar never got the chance to hear their children talk about them. "Ballad For My Father" was released on Fathers Day in 2007. I share it with you today. It means more to me now than ever. It was the hardest song I've ever written. Special thanks to @afriendtotheworld for composing the music to this song, @jamessongz for producing the project, and @truth_thrower for putting this video tribute together in 2011. #ripdaddy#thegreatest #dickgregory#balladformyfather.”
