Michelle Obama and Sarah Jessica Parker finished the last event of the year of the “Becoming” tour in the best possible way: briefly showing off their dance moves.

In the clip, the former FLOTUS appeared wearing beautiful and shiny boots and a long-sleeved yellow dress that had a high slit to put the boots, which were the highlight of her outfit, on full display.

To her side, actress Sarah was rocking a gorgeous dark purple gown that was also shiny. When the video began, both ladies were dancing and singing along to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours.”

THE POST’S TOUCHING CAPTION

After waving and clapping for a while, the ladies left the stage. The event, which was the last stop of Michelle’s book tour in 2018, took place in Brooklyn on December 19. For the caption, the former First Lady thanked everybody for their “part of our story,” for “being who you are,” and “for being on this journey.”

“I hope all of you believe in your story. I hope you recognize that what you see as a weakness might actually be a strength. I hope you recognize the power of your voice. And I hope you remind yourself that there isn't one right way to be an American. There isn’t one way to make your contribution in this country,” added Michelle.

THE TOPICS ADDRESSED DURING THE EVENT

During the event, Michelle talked about the decisions behind some of the outfits she wore during Barack Obama’s presidency that made headlines. She admitted that, as a First Lady, she became a powerful influence in fashion, so she used that platform to “uplift some young new designers” who wouldn’t get that much attention otherwise.

Apart from that, Michelle briefly talked about the Trumps but avoided to talk about the investigation the administration is involved. The event, called “Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama,” lasted more than an hour.

THE TOUR’S EXTENSION

Even though that was supposed to be the last stop of her tour, Live Nation, the publisher and event promoter of the former FLOTUS, announced that they would add more dates and cities to the tour that is expected to start in 2019.

Michelle and her team plan to visit some cities in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, including Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Amsterdam. Apart from that, some moderators are expected to accompany Michelle, including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

“Becoming” has been breaking records even before its official release date. In the first two weeks, it sold over two million copies worldwide. At the moment, the number is rounding three million, what made it the best-selling book of the year.

TOPICS IN “BECOMING”

In it, Michelle addressed different topics of her life before and during Barack’s presidency. One of the things she mentioned was the previous men she dated before meeting her husband.

Apart from that, the former FLOTUS wrote about the time she and her daughter Malia tried to “escape” from the White House to celebrate marriage equality with people.
