The music show has had a number of young people audition over the years and Evancho is one of the voices of the youngins that's hard to forget. In an audition clip she made available, Jacqueline Marie "Jackie" Evancho revealed that she would show America that the best things come in small packages and that she did; with a lavish rendition of the song that would make even Giacomo wow.

The lively teenager, whose smile melted the hearts of everyone made it known that her interest in singing was sparked by the film version of The Phantom of the Opera. In an attempt to stamp her authority, the budding star went on to amaze the judges and the viewers recurrently during the fifth season of the show.

Even though she ended up in second place, the child-star couldn't have envisaged what would happen to her in the nearest future.

After the end of the show, Jackie signed up for some singing lessons and continued to build up her passion and experience by performing at local events and festivals in and around Pennsylvania.

The 18-year-old took her exposure to the next level when she presented a YouTube channel to the audience; collaborating with David Foster, and later competing at the 15th annual U.S.A. World Showcase Talent Competition, a place she also finished in second place. Years later, she eventually signed a deal with Columbia Records and released an EP titled "O Holy Night."

Following the success of her EP, Evancho released a full-length album called Dream with Me in 2011. The album this time was certified gold making it to the top of the charts. She then embarked on her first single tour across the U.S. to promote the album.

The same year, she released another Christmas album "Heavenly Christmas," and like the previous ones, the album and its singles were chart-toppers.

Over the next few years, the AGT prodigy released four more full-length records. Her latest album, Two Hearts is a classic mix with pop songs. She has been seen touring throughout 2018.

“The biggest change I feel I’ve undergone is just the enthusiasm I have for my career and all aspects of it” - Evancho

In an interview with People, Evancho recounted:

"When I was a little girl all I wanted to do was play or sing...I was also afraid of the business side of the entertainment world. I never understood it. Now I love it all."

As rosy as it might have seemed back then, the singer also had a fair share of controversies and backlash from the people and media. Her performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration drew negative comments from people.

Evancho now lives by herself in New York City with a loving family to fall back on and a beautiful career.
