The fashion icon made sure she struck a balance when it came to fashion.

“As a Black woman, too, I knew I’d be criticized if I was perceived as being showy and high-end, and I’d also be criticized if I was too casual," she wrote in her memoir, "Becoming."

Michelle was under microscopic scrutiny when she was the First Lady. And now, she seems to want to impress that she’s now freer than ever.

The mother of two recently made a fashion splash when she wore thigh-high Balenciaga boots. It signaled the post-White House Michelle Obama. It was far removed from her meticulously calculated appearance for the last eight years.

She continued: “So, turning that awareness on its head so that it becomes strategic and impactful is definitely something that doesn't just happen — you have to actually be thinking about it or you waste the opportunity to have a broader impact.

"But now, I'm free to do whatever. There is no message. The boots are telling you no message. They were just really cute. I was like, Those some nice boots!”

The former first lady opted for business casual attending a meeting over lunch at Gjelina restaurant in Venice.

She chose pastel shades for this meeting, rocking light green wide-leg trousers and a green-and-white striped suit jacket.

She matched her coordinated outfit with a cleavage-baring white top and sandals. She wore a pair of pastel pink sunglasses and accessorized with a pair of hoop earrings.
