New mom Gabrielle Union channels a new vibe in one of her latest photos with her daughter. The actress sports blonde hair while toting her "shady baby."

Gabrielle Union is a new mom in the new year so why not throw in a new look in the mix? The actress recently showcased her brand new hair color as she toted her daughter Kaavia James in one arm.

MIRACLE BABY

Gabrielle isn’t done celebrating her new role as a mother. In fact, it’s been all about her first child on her Instagram ever since she welcomed her with her husband Dwyane Wade in November.

It’s no secret the 4-years-married couple used a surrogate to carry their child after a painful struggle with infertility issues in the past. So when Kaavia was born, Gabrielle dubbed her their “miracle baby.”

Since her birth, Kaavia has been gracing Gabrielle’s Instagram as the proud mother lovingly doted on her child. It’s clear from all the photos Gabrielle has shared that she’s on cloud nine now that she’s officially a mom.

FENDING OFF CRITICS

Even when fans criticized her for laying on a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown with her newborn even when she didn’t personally deliver her, the actress remained unfazed. She explained to Oprah that it was her means to bond with her child, something most mothers do to connect with their newborns.

JOURNEY TO MOTHERHOOD

A month after Kaavia was born, Gabrielle shared a video documenting her journey as a would-be-mom. She shared glimpses of Kaavia’s birth as well as her struggles with miscarriages and why they decided to take the surrogacy route.

“Every family is unique. How each family is created and comes together is special,” she wrote to caption her video.

"Kaavia James Union Wade's journey into our arms was long and at times brutal. There were heartbreaks that nearly broke us and streams of tears that turned into raging rivers."

But all that was worth it after her baby was born. And Gabrielle has been a mom first since then. In most of her posts, she’s carrying her child, amazed at the gift that she is. But in one of her latest snaps of the two of them, they channeled a different vibe.

The post which Gabrielle captioned “Mother Daughter Undercover Duo” featured the actress sporting a blonde curly do and her daughter looking shady in a bonnet, grey pants and a loose top with rolled up sleeves.

“@kaaviajames is the muscle,” she added in her caption before attaching the hashtags “#LAsFinest” and “ShadyBaby”.

Gabrielle is every inch a kickass mom in the photo and no doubt in reality.
