Singer Rockwell, who is Berry Gordy's son, was arrested after he reportedly beat up a woman with a chair at a Hollywood hotel.

The singer Rockwell is best known for his 80s hit song, “Somebody’s Watching Me.” Now it seems he is vying to be more infamous than famous.

He was arrested last year after allegedly beating a woman with a chair at a Hollywood hotel. The woman has now filed a lawsuit against the singer for the injury.

Rockwell's real name is Kennedy Gordy. He was arrested on November 29, 2018, in Hollywood. After a disturbing incident unfolded at the Magic Castle Hote between him and a woman.

He was booked on a felony charge after he allegedly beat the woman with a chair. His bail was set at $30,000 bail.

Sources close to the situation revealed that the woman was working for the 54-year-old singer at the time of the incident. It is alleged that the singer was physically and verbally abusive.

Sources also claim that he owed the woman money. Rockwell, who is the son of Motown mogul Berry Gordy and Margaret Norton, was staying at the Magic Castle Hotel.

The hotel is located in Hollywood next door to the famous Magic Castle private nightclub. The woman approached Rockwell about payment of the money he owed her in the evening of November 29.

According to witnesses, he became irate and attacked her with a chair. The woman suffered severe injuries including a broken arm as a result of the attack.

The 54-year-old singer was arrested and spent a few nights in jail. He was released on the morning of December 1.

The woman was forced to undergo one surgery and is due for another. She reportedly needs to go under the knife to repair the extensive damage to her arm.

On January 7, she filed a lawsuit against Rockwell in Los Angeles. She is suing the singer for personal injury and is claiming her damages exceed $25,000.

The troubled son of Berry Gordy currently has multiple criminal cases open against him. One of which is for criminal threats while another is for indecent exposure and lewd acts.

He has not yet appeared in court for the recent chair beating incident.
