If comparing immigrants to a bowl of poisoned skittles wasn't bad enough, Donald Trump Jr. now compared them to animals in a zoo.

He is receiving criticism for a recent Instagram story in which he asked: "You know why you can enjoy a day at the zoo? Because walls work."

His comment was about his father, the President, wanting to waste billions of dollars to build a border wall between the States and Mexico.

Social media was having none of his nonsense and quickly put him in his place. Emily Jane Fox shared a screenshot of his Story and captioned it:

"Immigrants as caged animals, from the First Son."

Another user didn't beat around the bush and shared an image of a prison with the caption: "[Donald Jr] is going to get to know life behind bars very soon."

Nick Jack Pappas reminded Twitter that "the son of the President just compared immigrants seeking asylum to zoo animals," while another user added:

"I hope the First Son gets to find out how efficient [prison] walls really are."

Another Twitter user added that the first son was "equating poor brown people and children to animals," while a user known only as Unraveled added succinctly:

"Actually I can't enjoy a day at the zoo right now. The National Zoo is currently closed due to the [Trump Shutdown.]"

The last time Trump caused such an uproar, apart from the skittles saga, was when he used the late Mollie Tibbetts' death to further his political agenda.

Even after her father asked that her life and beliefs be respected, Trump Jr persisted and trampled all over the grieving family's request.

The 41-year-old was previously married to Vanessa Trump, with whom he has five children – three sons and two daughters.

Donald Jr. announced back in March that he and Vanessa would be parting ways. The reason for divorce has not been made public.

Donald has cheated on Vanessa in the past, but the couple said they parted on good terms and will remain friends.

Vanessa even defended Guilfoyle on Twitter when netizens called for Guilfoyle to be fired from "Fox News" for dating a member of the Trump family.
