Mo’Nique has social media users fawning over one of her adorable baby pictures while also penning a touching note ahead of her Las Vegas residency.

The Instagram post from yesterday shows an infant Mo’Nique with wide, alert eyes captured in a vintage snap. Although the comedian we all know today is many years older, there’s no doubt the curly-haired baby is the award-winning entertainer loved by many.

Mo’Nique shared the throwback picture on January 10, a day before the commencement of her Vegas residency at the SLS hotel.

She accompanied her #throwbackthursday post with an emotional message that reveals how much the residency means to her and how much she’s looking forward to it.

“LAS VEGAS HERE I COME,” Mo'Nique declared before adding:

“This is me 50yrs ago. This little baby had no idea she would be a part of history. I am honored to be the 1st black female comedienne to have a residency in LAS VEGAS. SLS HOTEL, January 11, 2019. Come be a PART OF HISTORY WITH US. Love us 2 LIFE.”

BUILDING ANTICIPATION

Last month, the mom-of-four showed just how much she was anticipating her milestone event with a dance video from one of her photoshoots.

“Hey, my loves. It’s an UPROAR. Getting ready for my RESIDENCY IN LAS VEGAS at the SLS HOTEL. Starting, January 11th, 2019,” she announced.

GIVING HER BEST

In a recent interview with Las Vegas Weekly, Mo’Nique also told fans what they should expect from her time in the glittering city.

“Just show up. We do what we do as comics,” said the Hollywood star. “What’s our purpose? To make you laugh and make you feel better about your situation, whatever it may be.”

She added:

WISE WORDS FOR TIFFANY

The 51-year-old, who says she’ll be a stand-up comedian even when she’s 99 years old “with one tooth and one string of hair,” had some advice for her younger colleague, Tiffany Haddish.

Haddish had a less than stellar performance at her New Year’s Eve show where she forgot many jokes and failed to deliver even the ones she remembered.

Mo’Nique told her:

“The advice I would give her is keep on going and don’t judge yourself harshly."

THE FIT LIFE

But besides career advice, Mo’Nique has also become a respected voice when it comes to fitness and weight loss. The “Parkers” actress was happy to announce early last year that for the first time since she was 17, she weighed below 200 pounds.

“I wanna share with ya’ll the goodness that you can eat and still drop this weight,” Mo’Nique said in an Instagram video. “It’s called raw food. It’s called dancing your pants off. It’s called giving yourself a chance to live the best life you can live.”
