Young 'AGT' stars Courtney Hadwin and Darci Lynne reveal an unexpected twist in the show
In another heartbreaking episode, two of the youngest and most enchanting faces of America’s Got Talent were eliminated from the show on Monday’s episode of The Champions.
Darci Lynne Farmer and Courtney Hadwin were both discharged to the surprise of everyone, as none of them won Heidi Klum‘s Golden Buzzer. The two teenagers who were in high spirits will not be proceeding to the finals of the competition.
They were bested by SGT champion Cristina Ramos, who won ahead of Farmer and Hadwin with enough votes from the Midwest region.
“It’s insane how good she is,” Farmer, a former winner of America's Got Talent says of Cristina Ramos; the young girl allured the audience with her blend of unique rendition and majestic carriage of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.
Lynne had graced the stage with her star puppet "Oscar the Mouse"; and amazed the judges Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Mel B and Howie Mandel with their duets of Tina Turner’s popular songs, “Nutbush City Limits” and “Proud Mary.”
On falling short of the chance to be crowned champion, the 14-year-old recounted:
“I’m just taking it step-by-step.”
She went on to say that she has returned to being a student at her local public school.
“I’m just going along for the ride; I hope there’s more to come.” - Darci Lynne
Hadwin, another of the top 3 finalists who auditioned for the show with an original song, declared she's focusing on releasing her songs.
“I’m working on new music, which is really cool! It’s going to be my own style. I want my own personal songs to not be based on someone else’s voice; I want it to be my voice and my kind of style,” - Hadwin.
The U.K. native signed on Cowell’s Record Label.
“It was only a couple of months ago that I couldn’t have dreamt of being where I am now. It’s just amazing how much I’ve done. I feel very lucky!” she adds, beaming with a smile that would have melted a stone.
Despite not getting crowned; the two Darci and Courtney revealed they'd achieved something bigger and more special than the Champion's title; a lasting bond and friendship.
“I’m constantly talking to Darci Lynne.” - Hadwin.
As their fame elevates every second, the girls are struggling with their identity; how to still be normal in the world as a celebrity.
“There are times where I’m like, ‘I wish I can do this or I wish I can be normal like this,’ but with my life, I try to keep it normal." Lynne
Even though both are no longer on the show, it's no doubt that the greatness that radiates around them is a brewing storm. A tide we are all patiently awaiting.
