Brad Pitt is receiving support from his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, following the death of his mother, Jane Etta Pitt. Jane passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 84.

A source told People that Ines "is supporting Brad as he grieves his mother's loss. She wants to be there for him and Brad is very much letting her be that person."

Another source shared that the 35-year-old jewelry designer has been offering her condolences to the Pitt family. "Ines is really close with Brad's family as well," they said. "She immediately reached out to send her condolences as soon as she heard the news."

According to her online obituary, Jane was born on August 13, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee. She grew up in Joplin with her siblings, Sam and Ruthie, who both preceded her in death.

She attended Oklahoma Baptist University as a cheerleader, where she met William Alvin "Bill" Pitt, a basketball player. The two met in the university library in a moment each later claimed the other initiated. They married on August 11, 1962.

The couple lived in Oklahoma and St. Louis before settling in Springfield, Missouri, where they raised their three children: Brad Pitt, Doug Pitt, and Julie Neal.

Jane began her career as an elementary school teacher and later returned to education as one of the original "Parents As Teachers" educators for the Springfield Public School System. She also volunteered at the Pregnancy Care Center in Springfield.

She made up the silliest games just to make us laugh, and she believed in fairness, in putting others first, and doing good simply because it was the right thing to do," expressed Sydney.

She detailed their yearly "special day" tradition, which for her included banana splits for breakfast, playing Trouble, crafting, riding every ride at Silver Dollar City, dinner at Olive Garden, mini golf, and ending the evening watching "Paulie."

Sydney noted her grandmother's energy in keeping up with all fourteen grandchildren and the boundless love she shared. She ended her tribute by saying, "I know she's still here in every brushstroke, every kind gesture, every hummingbird. She was love in its purest form." Alongside her message, Sydney shared a carousel of photos capturing memories with Jane.

While Brad and his family face this personal loss, he continues to have the unwavering support of Ines, who has been seen by his side on other occasions.

The pair attended their first public event together at the 2024 British Grand Prix, which Lewis Hamilton won in his final season with Mercedes.
