A man in Pennsylvania accidentally left 2 pounds of weed in an Uber and tried to recover it. Little did he know, cops from the area already knew about the illegal drug being left in the vehicle and he was later on busted for the possession of marijuana.

According to a news report by WPXI News, the rider was in for a nasty surprise after trying to retrieve his stash.

After the rider tried to meet up with the driver to retrieve his stash, he ended up in a confrontation with state police. On January 2, police were dispatched to the Uber driver's house after he called 911 once he found the marijuana in his car.

The driver told the police that when he worked for the ride-sharing app on December 29, he received an e-mail from their support team that a previous rider left a package in his vehicle. The same e-mail contained a phone number which he could use to contact the rider.

However, after realizing that the "package" was actually two pounds of marijuana, he decided to call 911 before calling the 21-year-old rider, who turned out to be Malik Mollett.

Posing as the driver, police said that Mollett quickly answered the phone and said he let the package in the car and would meet to get it back. He even confirmed his name and told the police that the bag he had left in the Uber was black.

After the first undercover trooper gave back the bag, another one went in the establishment to take him into custody.

It is unclear what has happened after the arrest as no further updates have been given, but with a criminal complaint under his name, Mollett might as well hire a good law firm to help him on this one.
