President Donald Trump is in hot water following comments he made regarding his wife, Melania Trump.

The public is outraged by the words of the president during a Clemson Tigers' visit to the White House on Tuesday. A clip of the visit is found below.

The comments arose as a result of none other than the government shutdown which is still ongoing. This has led to a lack of staff in several official organizations, and the White House itself.

As he spoke to the University team, Donald pointed out that he was forced to use his own money to buy food for the National College champions. Then, he appeared to throw the first lady under the bus.

He said:

"Do we give you some little quick salads that the First Lady and Second Lady could make. But I said you guys aren't into salads."

He continued:

"Or do I send out for about 1,000 hamburgers? If it's American, I like it. It's all American stuff, 300 hamburgers, many, many french fries - all of our favorite foods."

Donald then invited the players and others present to dig into the takeaway food on the long table. He further commented on how the Republicans are sticking together amid the shutdown.

Many have called the President's salad joke sexist. Among them, political analyst Joan Walsh of CNN. According to Huffington Post, she strongly regarded the joke as being in poor taste.

She explained:

"It seems to me like the president will not be happy until there is not one single female Republican voter in the country. It's incredibly sexist. He shouldn't talk about the first lady in that way. We aren't all here to make salads for men."

Erin Burnett was also offended by the comments, saying:

"This is one of those things where sometimes what people say when they're being funny exposes exactly who they are and what they think. Not that there's any question, but this is pretty clear."

Meanwhile, others are not taking the joke as strongly. Scott Jennings, a conservative commentator, said:

"I think he was trying to make a joke about feeding hamburgers to football players. I think you might be over-reading this one."

It looks like Donald's jokes about his wife and somewhat hit or miss. Back when Melania was accused of giving the same speech as her predecessor, he addressed the matter.

Speaking at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Trump said:

"Michelle Obama gives a speech and everyone loves it. It's fantastic. They think she's absolutely great."

He went on with the punch line:

"My wife Melania gives the exact same speech and people get on her case! And I don't get it. I don't know why."

The audience erupted in laughter at the time. Melania herself was in the audience. She smiled up at her husband.

For those who are against the President's most current remarks, they may be appeased by a cartoon, however. The popular adult cartoon show "Family Guy" depicted the president in the most recent episode.

In it, Donald was portrayed in a comedic fashion. His face was very orange and he groped the character Meg in the show. At first, her family didn't believe her.

Then they saw it themselves. The show's producers said that the episode was meant to send a message about sexual harassment.

Others from the Trump administration were featured in the episode. Mike Pence, Sarah Sanders, Mitch McConnell, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner were either mentioned or made appearances.

Ivanka opted to give Meg a makeover so that she could find a very particular kind of husband, one like Kushner.

As expected, the show's viewers had mixed reviews, with some calling it distasteful and others praising the episode.
