Former president Barack Obama shares heartwarming tribute on wife Michelle's 55th birthday

Former First Lady Michelle Obama received the sweetest tribute from her husband on her birthday.

Michelle Obama is celebrating her 55th birthday on January 17, and she has just received the sweetest gift ever from her besotted husband, former President Barack Obama.

Barack is still crazy in love after 26 years of marriage, and he's not afraid to show it in a "Happy Birthday" post on Twitter.

“I knew it way back then and I’m absolutely convinced of it today — you’re one of a kind.”

The former President posted a stunning throwback photo of himself and Michelle back in the days when they were still dating.

His caption is a tribute to the woman he married and has loved for so many years, a woman he declares is "one of a kind."

He was joined by thousands of Michelle's admirers on Twitter, all eager to add their good wishes to his.

Michelle Obama's best-selling memoirs "Becoming," have revealed that the couple has always worked hard on their marriage

Barack and Michelle met at the Chicago law firm in which they both worked, and she admits she resisted his charms because she was his adviser:

“As soon as I allowed myself to feel anything for Barack, the feelings came rushing — a toppling blast of lust, gratitude, fulfillment, wonder.”

The loved-up couple dated for 3 years before marrying in 1992.

Michelle Obama's best-selling memoirs "Becoming," have revealed that the couple has always worked hard on their marriage:

“Because we’re role models, it’s important for us to be honest and say, ‘If you’re in a marriage and there are times you want to leave, that’s normal,’ because I felt that way.”

Michelle felt it was important for young couples to realize that there are good and bad moments in every marriage, but with love and dedication, those bad moments can be overcome.

The proof that her recipe for true love works is evident for all to see.

Michelle Obama's blockbuster memoir "Becoming" has revealed the struggles the former First Lady has been through to "become" the woman we admire.

And those difficulties started in high school when the ambitious young student was told by a college counselor to give up her dream of attending an Ivy League school:

"I'm not sure that you're Princeton material."

Michelle was shocked, but she disregarded the counselor's advice and applied to Princeton, where her brother Craig was studying:

"I wasn't going to let one person's opinion dislodge everything I thought I knew about myself."

Michelle's faith in herself was vindicated and she was accepted by Princeton. The rest, as they say, is history.

In a related story, Michelle Obama advised Meghan Markle not to hurry when dealing with the pressure of royal life.
