Of course, @MichelleObama’s my wife, so I’m a little biased here. But she also happens to be brilliant, funny, wise – one of a kind. This book tells her quintessentially American story. I love it because it faithfully reflects the woman I have loved for so long. pic.twitter.com/X0i9jja4TE— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) November 13, 2018
MICHELLE OBAMA'S DETERMINATION GOT HER TO PRINCETON
Michelle Obama's blockbuster memoir "Becoming" has revealed the struggles the former First Lady has been through to "become" the woman we admire.
And those difficulties started in high school when the ambitious young student was told by a college counselor to give up her dream of attending an Ivy League school:
"I'm not sure that you're Princeton material."
Michelle was shocked, but she disregarded the counselor's advice and applied to Princeton, where her brother Craig was studying:
"I wasn't going to let one person's opinion dislodge everything I thought I knew about myself."
Michelle's faith in herself was vindicated and she was accepted by Princeton. The rest, as they say, is history.
