Melania pays affectionate tribute to President Trump's inauguration anniversary in a sweet photo
On Sunday, First Lady Melania Trump took to social media to pay tribute to her two-year anniversary in the presidency. She honored her and her husband’s inauguration with a throwback image.
The photo showed the Trumps standing together on a giant version of the seal of the president of the US. She captioned the post revealing what she’s thought of the past years.
For most Americans, it feels like First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump have been in power for many years. However, the couple has only been running the country for two years.
To celebrate the milestone, Melania posted on social media:
“It has been an unforgettable two years in the @WhiteHouse. I am honored to serve this great nation!”
In her post, she included a picture of their inauguration day on January 20, 2017. The pair appeared to be slow dancing on the image of the seal of the president.
Besides being a mother to their 12-year-old son, Barron. The first lady has fulfilled a number of duties in her position over the last two years.
In May last year, the first lady launched the "Be Best" campaign. The initiative focuses on children and has three core goals.
It tackles children’s well-being, social media, and opioid abuse. Melania has traveled around the world with the president and last year alone to Africa.
She’s also had the pleasure of decorating the White House for the 2017 and 2018 Christmas seasons. Despite all the backlash she’s gotten for being Donald’s wife, she’s stood tall and soldiered through it all.
Even though the government is currently going through a partial shutdown, the first lady flew to Florida on Thursday for a holiday weekend at her family's private Mar-a-Lago resort. Her flight occurred on the same day that the president postponed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to visit US troops in Afghanistan.
Donald revealed that Pelosi’s trip was canceled so she could be around to negotiate about the shutdown.
